I know what Mary and Joseph went through

Photobucket

Well...I'm not actually having a baby Jesus and wandering around in December, but I did spend most of today/tonight searching online for a hotel in Melbourne (I get there on Tuesday for a week). It seems that they are hosting this "little" event there next weekend called "The Grand Prix" and every hotel (regular/budget/crack house) appears to be full.

I have two possible options, but neither of them has a bathroom/shower inside the room (it's shared down the hall...but can be locked when you're silkwood-scrubbing your naughty bits and nether-regions). This is not an uncommon thing, especially in backpacker or budget hotels...many people actually are used to it. Although, I'd prefer a room with a bathroom inside...I may just have to suck it up and deal with it.

With my luck, I'll be sharing it with a group of people who are in town to compete in the "Grand Prix Beef Burrito and Cabbage Eating Contest".

It better have GREAT ventilation...

  1. Take the room for rent, Ken. Seriously, it will enrich your experience... time to get out of oh-so-safe tourist mode and wade into the people. Sharing a bathroom with the lesser caste of Melbourne will allow you to really reach out and touch them... down under.

  2. This coming from a man who alphabetizes his skin care products and sprays Purell on the toilet seat in his own bathroom. But, I appreciate you encouraging me to mix with the lesser caste. Remember, if I catch anything while I'm over here, it's all being brought back to your house in a few weeks....

Anyone can post comments here, as long as they aren't nasty or too profane. As long as people play nice, I won't have to stop this car.
