A little bit of culture

As many of you know, I love art. Well, I don't LOVE it, but I do enjoy a good picture book now and then. Comic books rock! So, today I thought I'd head over to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It's in the park (you know how I love the park...) and has an amazing view of the bay. There were a variety of paintings, sculptures and artifacts scattered about over four floors. Those of you who enjoy art would really like it. Those of you who don't...they have a lovely snack bar and their bathrooms are pretty clean.

So, here are a few samples of what I saw today. Of course, I have no recollection of who any of the artists are/were...so, I'll just give my own descriptions.

This reminded me of my friend Eve's paintings...although Eve's are MUCH better. Next time, I'm bringing one of hers with me and switching them out....

This is the first artist I'd vote off of the renowned TV show "So, You Think You Can Paint", hosted by Martin Landau and Bjork.

    Ohooohoh the purple the purple and the people and button hooks button hooks and Motart hold your water until the last note and it hurts oh it hurts.

    Sort of like the Louvre said: "eh, We do not have room. Send those to Sydney.

    When did you have the time to pose for that sculpture? As for the coffee tables, I was never very good in my art class, so I did the best that I could. I knew that something was wrong when my drink kept sliding off onto the floor. When I threw them in the ocean, I had no idea that...CURSES!

    Looks like Bjork might need to recuse herself....I think I see a swan dress in that painting.

    Actually, I'm forced to disclose, I posed for that sculpture during my reckless college years back in 1630. They assured me no one would ever see it. True, I've let myself go a bit since then. That was before my stomach became cantilevered over my belt line like an impending avalanche. - Joel

    Joel, you're as funny as you are relevant. Sorry to hear about your art class incident Mark, but appreciate you noticing the "striking" resemblence to me in the statue. You obviously have a very keen eye (just like Chris catching the faint swan dress in the painting). But you should never design any surface where a drink can fall off of it. That's just wrong. And you're right Roland...I think the Louvre did pass on many of these paintings. For good reason.
