Meshach Taylor

 photo 05856a42-23cd-498c-b7c8-c946d2662cec_zps4dafb44e.jpg

Very sad news over the weekend...

Meshach Taylor, who played a lovable ex-convict surrounded by boisterous Southern belles on the sitcom Designing Women and appeared in numerous other TV and film roles, died of cancer at age 67.

 photo Anthony_zpsd2b6fe0b.jpg

Taylor got an Emmy nod for his portrayal of Anthony Bouvier on Designing Women from 1986 to 1993. Then he costarred for four seasons on another successful comedy, Dave's World, as the best friend of a newspaper humor columnist played by the series' star, Harry Anderson.

I loved Designing Women and his character's relationship with Suzanne on the show was one of the best parts.

He will definitely be missed.

Brie-zy

 photo storm_zps04421b90.jpg

The new trailer for Into The Storm makes it look like film is either going to be very cheesy or pretty Twister-on-steroids crazy...

I'm leaning more towards the first option.

Heavily.

Lego tweeted out their version of the, now classic, image of the cast of the new Star Wars movies at their first script reading in April.

They did a pretty good job recreating the original (below).

Constant Craving

 photo bc9ee823-22d5-4478-b85c-53093f384dfe_zpsfbff74df.jpg

I ate each of these cereals regularly as a kid and now, as an adult, I still get a hankering for them often...

 photo 83d58396-254b-43d1-b1fb-39dffd293cca_zps1ab71a79.jpg

Yes...I collected the various "Freakies" and, sadly, I also remember the commercial theme song.

 photo d23cc9e8-3a17-4b66-8abb-127740f0d5e2_zps3175e4b5.jpg

The King didn't seem creepy back then, but now he reminds me of the stalking Burger King from that disturbing series of commercials a few years ago.

 photo Quake_zps9f6d8628.jpg

That cereal was not powered by vitamins of any kind. It was powered by deliciousness.

One of the few clowns that doesn't terrify me.

What up, Boo?

 photo 8037c22a-22f0-4221-95da-dbfa16ec00a7_zpsb3d9816c.jpg

They were all pretty much the EXACT same cereal, just in a different color or shape and...I didn't care.

The fact that I still have any of my original teeth still inside my head is a miracle.

Now I'm hungry...

Jurassic Bark

Some guy edited his dog, Wally, into this classic Jurassic Park scene and the result is surprisingly entertaining…

They're gonna need a bigger dog house.

The final trailer for the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was released today and the monkeys be chatting away in this one…

I loved the last film, so I hope that this sequel is as good as or surpasses it.

We'll find out when it swings into theaters on July 9th.

I hope she's not attending a wedding there.

Those never seem to end well.

A new international trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy was released today and, like the others, it makes the movie look like it's going to be a lot of fun.

That raccoon has some anger issues.

Enjoyable.

Casey Kasem

 photo b3713cf1-3809-4fef-bdab-f619608b449f_zps56bfca3b.jpg

Very sad news over the weekend

Casey Kasem, who entertained radio listeners for almost four decades as the host of countdown shows such as "American Top 40" and "Casey's Top 40," died early Sunday.

Kasem was already a popular disc jockey in Los Angeles when he became the host of "American Top 40" in 1970. The syndicated show, which counted down the 40 most popular songs in the United States based on Billboard magazine's Hot 100 music chart, began on just seven radio stations but quickly became a mainstay of thousands, all around the world.

He had an amazing career and a worldwide following…you can't beat that.

He will be missed.

If you liked Sarah Paulson in the previous seasons of American Horror Story (and I did), it looks like we're gonna get twice as much of her in the next season...

So excited to be playing Bette AND Dot this season. Two heads are better than one!

Can't wait!

For whatever reason, this recent picture of Prince Harry makes me laugh.

It's like a sneak peek of a very special episode of Bewitched where Endora turns the Queen of England into a goat.

Hijinx ensue.

That is all.

Magnificent

 photo f0d3d4b0-93be-4615-9770-f9f08c92da99_zpsc6fd8987.jpg

It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a movie as much as I enjoyed Maleficent.

I just loved it.

Angelina Jolie was the emotional center of this movie and she delivers from start to finish. She really pulled everything together.

Great cinematography, quick pace, touching script and you leave with a smile on your face.

How often does that happen?

Loved. It.

Ermahgerd!

 photo Dernets_zps7f569b06.jpg

When I started out just looking for a fun way to wish you all a Happy National Donut Day (and I do!), I had no idea that I would run into this mysterious gal who, unknown to me, is all over the internets.

How have I missed her?!!

 photo Flerp_zps3ac0d8f4.jpg

I almost snorted soda out of my nose when I saw that one…"flerp flerps"!!

Dying!

And she's not just excited about products…she's starring in movies.

There are t-shirts, mugs, and all kinds of merchandise out there with her on it.

Hilarious.

I hope the gal in the unfortunate photo is actually getting the royalties for all of this.

And she should share some of it with her mother, the Target Lady.

Rock and Roll

 photo ef40d68b-d26a-4e22-95f4-de803fef5f1b_zpsd4e232dc.jpg

A new poster and trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Hercules was just released and it's looking….exactly how you'd expect it to look.

I still haven't seen the earlier Kellan Lutz version, which got less than stellar reviews.

Although I really do enjoy Dwayne and will likely see it, I'm usually not all that interested in these kinds of movies.

They tend to be a bit too stabby for me.

Deep Thoughts

I've never been accused of being quiet.

However, the rest is pretty accurate.

Ann B. Davis

 photo 8b364fa7-5403-4411-b68b-76b5a70887c7_zps9f3c9f6d.jpg

Very sad news over the weekend

Actress Ann B. Davis, an American television legend who held "The Brady Bunch" together in her role as housekeeper Alice Nelson, died Sunday. She was 88.

It was that character that won her two Emmy awards, two additional nominations for best supporting actress and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. But to generations of American TV viewers, she was best known as Alice.

"I made up a background story. I did have a twin sister, so I used that as a basis. ... I cared very much about this family. It was my family. It was as close to my family as Alice would ever get. I would have died for any single one of them at any point," she said.

An iconic character for sure and someone who several generations of people feel as if they grew up with along the way.

She'll certainly be missed by many.
