2010 Oscar Nominations

The Oscar nominations were announced this morning and Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci each have reason to celebrate.

This is Meryl's 16th nomination, which gives her the most of any actor and Stanley (her co-star in "Julie and Julia" and "The Devil Wears Prada") also got a nomination for his performance in "The Lovely Bones" (which I still have to see).

I'm a little disappointed that "Star Trek" didn't get more nominations other than the usual Sci-Fi nods for makeup, sound and visual effects. At least it wasn't completely ignored...so, I guess I can live with that.

It will also be interesting to see how the "Best Director" category turns out, since James Cameron and his ex-wife, Kathryn Bigelow (nominated for her film "The Hurt Locker"), are up against each other.

March 7th could be a vewwwwwy interesting night indeed.
