
The nurse who mashed with the solider in this infamous picture has passed away...
Edith Shain, the nurse in one of the most memorable photographs from World War Two, died Sunday at the age of 91. The picture, taken in Times Square on V-J Day after the Japanese surrender, appeared in Life magazine.
If you're gonna be remembered for something in this life, that's a pretty cool legacy to leave behind.
I hope she got a similar reception wherever she is now.
