The Outsider

 photo O_zpsgbidt2pj.jpg

HBO released the first trailer for its upcoming Stephen King series, The Outsider, today...

It looks pretty good. Plus, it's got Jason Bateman and Mare Winningham...enjoyable!

Looking forward to this when it starts airing in January.

Heat is on

Melissa McCarthy (she of Bridesmaids and Mike and Molly) has two movies coming out next year and, as always, she continues to be hilarious.

Here is the profanely-entertaining trailer for Heat, with Sandra Bullock...

And here is Identity Theft, with Jason Bateman...

These both look pretty funny, but I do hope that Melissa will also do some other fun comedies, one day, where she gets to play someone who appears to have taken a shower.

Regardless, she's still a very funny lady.

Very.

The first trailer for Identity Theft starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman was released today and it looks like it's gonna be pretty funny.

The punches to the throat...

Hilarous!

The movie opens in May 2013.

Before they were stars

Gosling

Every actor has to start out somewhere (Ryan Gosling in Young Hercules) and, as you'll see by these videos, their roles were not always as glamorous as they are today (Ryan Gosling now).

So, take a little trip back in time to see some of your favorite actors featured in roles that, although likely not their brightest moments, got them to where they are today.

This first compliation features: Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington, Jeff Goldblum, Clint Eastwood, James Franco, Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, Jason Bateman and Chevy Chase.

The second features: Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, Steve Buscemi, Paul Newman, Robin Williams, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Katie Holmes.

Lots of interesting hair-dos and retro clothes that almost make Jeggings not seem quite so bad.

Monkey Business

I saw Rise of the Apes this weekend and was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It was so much better than the horrible Tim Burton remake a few years ago. It also did really well at the Box Office...

Fueled by great word of mouth, 20th Century Fox's Rise of the Planet of the Apes opened to $54 million at the domestic box office—$20 million more than the best forecast. The pic easily placed No. 1.

Unfortunately, The Change-up wasn't as lucky...

Universal's R-rated Ryan Reynolds-Jason Bateman body switching comedy The Change-Up, didn’t fare as well, grossing a soft $13.5 million and coming in No. 4.

I do like both of the actors, but body-switching movies are rarely done well and this one just didn't look all that funny. If the trailer had been half as entertaining and honest as these press-outtakes...

"Body switching is a pretty stupid f*cking idea, but the movie's funny. If they go they'll laugh their d*ck off."

That should have been the only copy on the movie poster.
