Simply Divine

Photobucket

Melissa McCarthy (above) makes a pretty spot-on version of Divine (below) in Entertainment Weekly.

Photobucket

Photobucket

That's quite a hair-don't she's rockin' there.

Here she is on the cover...

Photobucket

I'm very happy for her and the recognition that she's finally getting after all of these years.

She's one funny lady.

Take her!

Ellen sent one of her writers and the writer's mother to a haunted house at the Queen Mary. They both are so easily scared that, at some points, the daughter is screaming just because she thinks something is coming.

OMG...hilarious!

Cheeky

Photobucket

There has been much discussion about James Franco's ass making the cover of Flaunt Magazine to promote the rambling interview he gives inside. He obviously enjoys being weird just so people will talk about him.

So, rather than focus on that editorial blather, I decided to feature a few entertaining excerpts from Gawker's interview with James's actual ass...

It seems like James's face has gotten most of the attention until now. Any body part rivalries between you two?

None at all. I mean, I'm pretty tight with James's face. I guess you could say he's my wingman. Face seals the deal, then I show up when it counts for the heavy lifting.

Any big screen aspirations?

Not really. I mean, I'm there, I'm part of the team. I did a lot of solid work in 127 Hours, but it was mostly supporting stuff. I did have a brief cameo in Milk. The swimming pool scene.

We gotta ask: What was it like hosting the Oscars?

[Farts] Like that. For three-and-a-half hours.

Now, that's comedy!

Further into the abyss

Photobucket

Honestly, I kinda thought she already did this...

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly posing nude for Playboy magazine for a sum close to $1 million dollars.

According to sources, there have been talks for months about the deal, but Lindsay refused the initial $750,000 offer because she wanted a million dollars for the spread. Hefner and Co. recently went back to Lindsay with an offer less than her asking price, but close enough for her to sign on the dotted line.

It's a shame she and her family are such hot messes.

Hopefully they all won't end up doing porn together.

Someone please stop their madness.

Magic Man

This trailer for the movie Chronicle looks pretty interesting...

Kids get special powers. Kids enjoy their powers too much.

I'll bet something bad happens.

It's just a guess.

Magic Mike and friends

Photobucket

Joe Manganiello (the werewolf from True Blood) appears to be taking a little break between shooting his new stripper movie, Magic Mike (directed by Steven Soderbergh). Here is a bit about the movie...

The film, which is wrapping this week, stars Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum in a Saturday Night Fever-type coming-of-age drama about a young exotic dancer who is schooled by a veteran of the trade.

Photobucket

The film’s based on Tatum’s own experiences when he became an exotic dancer before breaking into acting.

Photobucket

The film has drawn an ab-centric cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello.

Photobucket

I wonder what they'll focus on in the trailers to get people to come out to see this movie?

Photobucket

I'm sure they'll think of something...

Why we dream

Some interesting insight...

I would rather see one on "Controlling who shows up in your dreams and what they will or won't be wearing".

I'm just sayin'....

What's up, Holmes?

Here is the latest Sherlock Holmes 2 trailer...looks pretty good.

I missed the first one, so I may need to rent it before this one comes out in December.

Fascinating

Photobucket

Zachary Quinto casually came out this past weekend...

Actor Zachary Quinto, known for playing Spock in the 2009 "Star Trek" remake and his role as Sylar on the television show "Heroes," acknowledged his homosexuality in a post on his website Sunday, saying the action comes after the suicide of a 14-year-old who killed himself after apparently being harassed over his sexuality.

Rodemeyer's life has changed his, the 34-year-old Quinto wrote. "While his death only makes me wish that I had done this sooner, I am eternally grateful to him for being the catalyst for change within me. Now I can only hope to serve as the same catalyst for even one person in this world. That -- I believe -- is all that we can ask of ourselves and of each other."

Photobucket

He also discusses it on his blog and in a new interview with New York magazine...

For one thing, he’s willing to unambiguously talk about his sexual orientation. His eight-month role in Angels was both “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor and the most rewarding” he says. Having to inhabit that terrible lost world, if only in his mind, took a toll. “And at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.”

Very true.

She's still hot!

Photobucket

Betty White has done everything now, I think...

This Golden Girl proves why she’s still hot at 89. In this rap video, a duet with British singer Luciana, White drops beats, shimmies, and boasts about her, er, cherry cheesecake, all to benefit The Lifeline Program and the Los Angeles Zoo. A woman who raps, bakes, and raises money for causes she believes in? Now that is hot.

She actually does a pretty good job rapping...is there nothing she can't do?

Once she cures cancer and learns to fly, I think she should take a few days off and just relax.

M'lady Fingers

Photobucket

Glenn Close's upcoming movie, Albert Nobbs, looks very good. She definitely makes a convincingly odd, yet somewhat English-looking, older man.

Oscar, can you hear me?

Reunited

Photobucket

Looks like Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman get to rub elbows again...

Perlman has closed a deal to co-star opposite Alley in Alley’s ABC pilot The Manzanis. The family comedy, written by sitcom veterans Marco Pennette and Dave Flebotte, stars Alley as Angela Manzani, an opinionated wife/mother who, along with her Italian-American family, moves to a quiet New Jersey neighborhood where they clash with their new, WASPy neighbors. Perlman will play Angela’s mother in law Camille Manzani.

They were hilarious together on Cheers, so I imagine having them play mother and daughter should be a big ole "What's a matta wit'choo?" hoot.

Avengers trailer

Photobucket

The first Avengers trailer is out....

It's nice to see them all together, but the trailer really doesn't say too much about the story. So, I'll wait until the next one before I jump to conclusions and judge.

I'm nice that way...sometimes.

Marilyn

My Week With Marilyn certainly looks interesting. Michelle Williams is almost always good and you can't go wrong with Dame Judi Dench.

Steve Jobs

Photobucket

Very sad news...

Steve Jobs, the visionary who led a mobile computer revolution with the creation of wildly popular devices such as the iPhone, was mourned Thursday by admirers and competitors as much of the world awoke to news of his death. He was 56.

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," Apple said in a statement on its website.

He really did made a difference in the way the world interacts with technology. That's pretty impressive and quite a legacy to leave behind. I certainly enjoy my MacMini and my iPhone.

I really like this quote from him about work from his 2005 commencement speech at Standford University

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do,"

"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on."

Here is the full speech:

He will be missed.

Newbies

Even though the original Star Wars movies came out almost 35 years ago (Yikes!), it's easy to forget the magic that those original films still cast over people of all ages. Like this boy, who is about to find out who Luke's father is for the first time...

I had that same reaction when I first saw how awful the Bewitched movie turned out.

I still have nightmares.

Damn you, Nora Ephron!

Where's the party?

Photobucket

Looks like the Super Bowl just scored a winner....

Madonna will perform during the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 5.

This isn't the first time Madonna's been approached about performing at the Super Bowl. In 1998, it was heavily rumored that Madonna would perform at Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami, only to have the plans fall apart before a deal could be reached. Likewise, Madonna was reportedly to headline the halftime show for Super Bowl XXXV, two years later, but backed out at the last minute.

Well, if anyone can bring big ratings and the chance of a nip-slip back to the Super Bowl....it's Madonna.

Tramp

Photobucket

Here is a fun recording of Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga singing "The Lady is a Tramp"...

It looks like they really enjoyed working together on that song and video.

Of course, Tony Bennett is used to working around the blue-hairs in Vegas.
