Marvel Movies: Phase Three
Not to be outdone by DC announcing their recent slate of upcoming movies, Marvel Studios went ahead and announced their next phase of movies today at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
Of note is that the 3rd Avengers movie will be split into two parts (Hello, wads-o-cash!), there will be a Captain Marvel movie (the female version, which I was unaware was even a thing), and a Black Panther movie (never heard of him, but Marvel fans seemed to be psyched).
So, there's that.
Still, kind of awesome.
Here's more info…
At a live event at Disney’s El Capitan Theater in Hollywood today, Marvel Studios officially announced the titles of several of their previously untitled movies. After Warner Bros. surprised fans a couple weeks ago by announcing several DC Comics movies at a shareholders meeting, many had speculated correctly that today’s fan event would be Marvel’s turn to tout their upcoming releases. Marvel Studios officially announced the following movie titles and release dates.
2015: May 1: The Avengers: Age of Ultron
July 17: Ant-Man
2016: May 6: Captain America 3
November 4: Doctor Strange
2017: May 5: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
July 28: Thor: Ragnarok
November 3: Black Panther
2018: May 4: The Avengers: Infinity War, Part One
July 6: Captain Marvel
November 2: Inhumans
2019: May 3: The Avengers: Infinity War, Part Two
Ms. Marvel doesn't have an "M" on her suit.
How am I supposed to know who she is?
Get that lady an M, stat!

Fern Gully
If you've never seen Zach Galifianakis' web-series, Between Two Ferns…you should. It's one of the most awkwardly hilarious interview shows you'll ever watch.
The latest episode focuses on his interview with Brad Pitt.
I don't know how the guests can keep a straight face during these interviews.
Entertaining.

Barney would approve
It looks like Neil Patrick Harris is on a hosting roll...
Neil Patrick Harris revealed he will host the Academy Awards next February by tweeting a video of him checking "Host the Oscars" from his "bucket list."
Harris hosted the Tonys four times and Emmys twice. If he can also land the Grammys gig, then he would be the first person to host all four top showbiz award ceremonies.
He has done a great job hosting the Emmys and Tonys over the years...so I have no doubt he'll do a dandy job with the Oscars.
He's snarky.
I like snarky.

Jan Hooks
Very sad news yesterday….
Actress and comedian Jan Hooks died in New York on Thursday. She was 57.
Hooks launched her career on the "The Bill Tush Show," broadcast in her hometown of Atlanta. That catapulted the sketch comedian to the national TV series "Not Necessarily the News." She became famous as a "Saturday Night Live" cast member and performed on the show from 1986-1991.
After leaving that show, she played Carlene Dobber for two seasons on "Designing Women," replacing the character played by Jean Smart. She also appeared on "3rd Rock from the Sun" and "30 Rock."
She was one of my favorite cast members from SNL over the years, especially when she was playing "The Sweeney Sisters" with Nora Dunn.
One of her famous lines from those sketches was when she'd suddenly stop singing and say "I'd like to bring the room down."
The room is definitely feeling down today.
She will missed.

Coffee Talk
It was announced today that Showtime is bringing back Twin Peaks...exciting!
Twin Peaks fans’ quarter-century wait is over. One of the top cult series of all time is coming back with a new limited series on Showtime from its original creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost. The nine-episode series will go into production in 2015 for a premiere in 2016 to mark the 25th anniversary of when the series finished its run on ABC. In a fact that will delight Twin Peaks devotees, Lynch and Frost will write and produce all nine episodes, with Lynch set to direct every episode.
The new Twin Peaks will be set in the present day, more than two decades after the events in the first two seasons. It will continue the lore and story of the original series, with Lynch and Frost committed to providing long-awaited answers. Kyle MacLachlan hinted at his return as Cooper on Twitter later today: “Better fire up that percolator and find my black suit
I loved the first season of this series and am glad that David Lynch will be writing and directing every episode.
Time to stock up on some cherry pie and logs.
Yes...I said "log".
