Neil Patrick Harris revealed he will host the Academy Awards next February by tweeting a video of him checking "Host the Oscars" from his "bucket list." Harris hosted the Tonys four times and Emmys twice. If he can also land the Grammys gig, then he would be the first person to host all four top showbiz award ceremonies.
He has done a great job hosting the Emmys and Tonys over the years...so I have no doubt he'll do a dandy job with the Oscars.

I thought the awards ceremony was very entertaining last night. The set looked amazing and Neil Patrick Harris did a fine job as the host. I enjoy his comedic timing and his subtle quips when sketches didn't seem to go very well.

Neil Patrick Harris was very entertaining (as always) last night as the host of the Tony Awards. He seems so comfortable hosting and really helped make the three hour show zip by with a smile. Here is his opening number and the "Dueling Hosts" bit he did with Hugh Jackman.
The funny Kristen Chenowith and Neil Patrick Harris got up early this morning to announce the Emmy Nominations.
They also ended up being nominated themselves, which was a nice surprise to each of them, as you'll see by the clip above. They both made the normally bland reading of the nominations a bit fun for a change.
I'm very happy that several of my favorites got nominated this year. People like Kathy Griffin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Glenn Close, Jean Smart, Cynthia Nixon, Laura Dern, Tina Fey, Tim Conway, Ellen Burstyn, Sharon Gless, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Steve Carell, Sally Field, Mary Louis-Parker, Judi Dench, Chandra Wilson, Candice Bergen, Dianne Wiest, Alfre Woodard, Laura Linney, Michael Emerson (Ben on "Lost") and James Spader.
I'm also happy to see that "The Office", "30 Rock", "Brothers and Sisters", "Amazing Race", "Extras", "Boston Legal" and "My Life on the D-List" were all nominated shows in their catagories.
I am VERY happy to see that the horrible remake of the movie "Sybil" didn't get anything.
I do love Jessica Lange, but I hope that she was able to collect a nice paycheck and then take a LONG vacation after that fiasco.

Darren Criss will return to Broadway in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” stepping into the title role after John Cameron Mitchell, the musical’s co-creator and its original star, rotates out of the production in late April. “Glee” star Criss looks poised to help sustain business at “Hedwig” with a fanbase that turned out in droves for his last stint on the Main Stem. In 2012 he appeared in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” for a three-week run that kept the revival’s weekly sales well above the million-dollar mark in a post-holiday time period that usually slows sales at shows across the board. Neil Patrick Harris launched the Broadway revival of “Hedwig” with a Tony-winning turn that was followed by Andrew Rannells, Michael C. Hall and Mitchell. Hall has temporarily returned to the show for a weeklong run while Mitchell recovers from a knee injury he sustained during a recent performance. Criss stars in “Hedwig” for a 12-week run that starts April 29 and stretches into the summertime months, when New York City tourism keeps Broadway sales robust.
He's got a great voice and will probably help keep seats filled in the theater over the summer.
I wonder if Darren is nervous about taking over the roll from the guy who originated it...
