Fair Lady
Lady Gaga snags the cover of the new Vanity Fair next month and discusses some of the bad romances that she's been through over the years...
I had a man say to me, ‘You will die alone in a house bigger than you know, with all your money and hit records, and you will die alone.’” In these dark moments, Gaga tells Robinson, she has found meaning in her work: “Even though I know it sounds a bit Hallmark, whenever I [was] in that kind of stressful, worthless moment, I would think, I’ll show you.’”
Oh...I think she's shown him and many, many others.

Warbling on Broadway
As you can see by the new poster above, Glee's Darren Criss is getting ready to replace Daniel Radcliffe in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway, January 3rd.
Lucky Broadway.
Here is a little peek at the photoshoot for this poster...

Boldly Going Again
Very exciting news...
Paramount is grabbing the primo pre-Memorial Weekend date of May 17, 2013 for its much anticipated writer/director J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel. This one is being co-written by Abrams with Lost‘s Damon Lindelof, plus Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci. JJ is going to be making the movie in 3D.
I do love me some Star Trek with the new cast.
I just hate the waiting part...

Dr. Pepper
The UC Davis pepper-spraying police officer who outraged the public last week because of his idiotic choice to spray non-violent protesters is now the poster child for inappropriate use of force throughout history.
I doubt that the officer is feeling like the King of the World today.
What an ass-hat.

Breakaway Clothes
Jennifer Lopez gave one of the most memorable performances last night on the American Music Awards, which also featured her new 24-year-old "boyfriend"/dancer, Casper Smart (upper right in the photo).
It's good to see that she's bouncing back (literally and figuratively) so well after her divorce.
I was "so" worried....
Casper seems like a very friendly ghost.

Breaking Bank
Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens today and is expected to pull in around $125 Million or more over the weekend, which is very impressive by Hollywood standards.
However, what I never really knew (until today) is that the gaming world has a pretty impressive "box office" as well...
Activision’s first-person shooter multiplayer game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has grossed more than $775 million in its first five days of sales, the company reported Wednesday.
The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most valuable entertainment properties worldwide, having exceeded $6 billion in lifetime revenue.
$775 Million in FIVE DAYS?!!
Suck on that Twilight.

Hide your celebrities
This should be fun...
Ricky Gervais is returning to host the Golden Globes for a threepeat on January 15th. True, the Oscars brought back Billy Crystal. But today’s news is more of a surprise because Gervais eviscerated most of the movie and TV stars on the premises during last year’s festivities. He even zinged the Hollywood Foreign Press Association itself and its then-president Philip Berk, saying in his introduction that Gervais had to “help [the HFPA president] off the toilet and pop his teeth back in.”
Last years Golden Globes was one of the funniest I've seen in a while.
I'll definitely be watching this.

Sno-way
Yes...one of the dwarves actually says "Sno-way" when first meeting Snow White.
It seems that Mirror Mirror (the other Snow White movie) is gonna be the "wacky" version of Snow White and honestly, as much as I enjoy Julia Roberts, this looks awful.
I get that they are going for light-hearted family fare, more like a Princess Diaries than Snow White and the Huntsman. However, the sets, acting, and special effects all look so wooden and cheap. You'd never know that it was directed by the same guy who just directed the visually stunning, Immortals.
Even the series Once Upon a Time looks like it has a higher budget (and it's actually a pretty good show, by the way).
I do enjoy me some Julia Roberts, but I'll definitely be skipping this version in March (they are very lucky they come out first!) and only paying to see the other Snow White movie with Charlize Theron playing a truly evil queen.
The only evil queen in Julia's movie is Nathan Lane.

Hungry?
The first full trailer for the much-anticipated The Hunger Games movie was released yesterday and, overall, it seems like people who have read the books are pleased.
Here is the trailer:
I haven't read the books, but there seems to be quite a fan-following around them...so lets hope the first film does well enough to merit the entire series being produced.
Fans seem to be happy that Lenny Kravits' character retained his gold eye shadow, so there's that.
We'll find out how things turn out in March when the film is released.

Ye Gods!
In case you've missed their commercials every fifteen minutes on every channel for the past couple of weeks, the fat-free movie Immortals opens today.
If you're a fan of 300 and the Spartacus series as well as mythical, scantily clad Gods, dramatic comic book blood, and Ginsu slice and dice violence...there's a pretty good chance you're going to enjoy this too.
It features Henry Cavill (the new Superman, also immortal)...
Mickey Rourke and Stephen Dorff...
And Kellan Lutz (whose next Twilight film also opens next Friday)...
Kellan even sacrificed his shirt on the cover of the new Men's Fitness just to help promote this movie.
He's a trooper.
It looks like it's going to be a visual extravaganza with, if this clip is any indication, lots of graceful slow-motion carnage for every boy and girl in Whoville.
Ouch!
I'm in.
Gawker has a very funny review of the movie here.

Pig in Lipstick
Now that Eddie Murphy has dropped out as the host for the upcoming Academy Awards, it seems that even the Muppets are throwing their felt hats into the ring as potential replacements.
To be honest, the Swedish Chef would have been better host than James Franco was last year.
Go team Piggy!
UPDATE
Looks like Billy Crystal will be back to host.
He's always done a great job in the past.

Gimme a weight
Joey Lawrence has spent a lot of his free time over the years working out, especially during the phase where he wanted to be called "Joe". You remember Joe/Joey, right? The wee tot on Gimme a Break and Blossom? Here he is, pre-pecs...
I'm all for someone switching things up and lifting a weight or two, but now he's starting to look like a wax figure or something that the Bionic Woman would have knocked the face off of years ago.
As you can see here in these "candid" photos where someone "happened upon" him working out in a park with unusual, yet convenient, side lighting, he's obviously in fine physical shape and sporting a doll's hairdo.
However, he might need to give himself a break, get some rest, and lay off of the "supplements" a bit.
He's starting to look a little creepy.
Or French.

More from the Hobbit set
Peter Jackson has released another great video blog from the set of The Hobbit. This one focuses on filming the movie and drawing the concept art in 3D.
I'm glad this one is being shot in 3D (like Avatar was) rather than "converted" afterwards, which always seems to suck.

A Year in New York City
A pretty cool collection of life-in-the-big-city moments...
It makes me miss living there.

Dump Street
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill look like High School teachers, not kids.
Enjoy this preview for the upcoming 21 Jump Street movie. The producers probably hoped that if they put a lot of swearing in the trailer, folks might overlook how awful the movie actually looks.
They were wrong.
Now, when is Hollywood going to make that Blossom movie we've all be waiting for?

My friend DeAnna sent me a link to that this morning.
Only 53 shopping days until Christmas....
