Ripley Kicks
It looks like Reebok is releasing a version of Ripley's shoes from the Aliens movie...
Not to be outdone by Nike’s shameless cashing in on the prop sneakers it created for Back to the Future II, Reebok is releasing the high-top alien-stomping sneakers that Sigourney Weaver wore in Aliens.
They’re available April 26.
The release is timed to coincide with the upcoming ‘Alien Day’ celebrations being held on April 26, because everything needs an official holiday now. Reebok previously released a mid-top version of the shoe, but this will be the first time collectors will be able to get the high-top iteration seen in the film.
My first thought was....who even knew she was wearing shoes in that movie?!
I was too busy squinting at the movie screen through my fingers and trying not to wet myself from fear to notice what she was wearing on her feet.
That being said, they do seem like pretty cool shoes.

Patty Duke
Very sad news...
Patty Duke, seared in popular memory as Helen Keller opposite the Annie Sullivan of Anne Bancroft in both the 1959 Broadway premiere of The Miracle Worker and in Arthur Penn’s 1962 film, has died.
Duke, whose real name was Anna Pearce, also enchanted a generation of 1960s television viewers in her dual portrayal of look-alike cousins — the cheeky, all-American teen Patty and the sober, formal Cathy, on The Patty Duke Show, which ran on ABC for 104 episodes, beginning in 1963.
Duke won an Oscar as best supporting actress for The Miracle Worker — the youngest actress at the time to be so honored — and served two terms as president of the Screen Actors Guild, from 1985 to 1988.
The theme song to "The Patty Duke Show" will forever be in my brain...and I'm okay with that.
She had a great career and will definitely be missed.

There is nothing like a Dame
Entertainment Weekly released a series of covers focused on the Game of Thrones actresses this week...
That is certainly the cleanest any of them have looked in the past five seasons.
Maybe Season 6 is subtitled "Year of the Shower".
The new season of Game of Thrones begins on Sunday April 24th.

Batman v Box Office
First, the good news about Batman v Superman...
The full international weekend estimates on Warner Bros’ Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice show the superheroes capturing $254M on 40K screens in 66 markets. That makes BvS the No. 5 best opener ever at the overseas box office. Coupled with the record-breaking domestic number this frame, the worldwide total is $424.1M; that’s good for 4th place all-time global opener.
Among the records shattered offshore are: The biggest superhero opening weekend of all time; biggest March opening ever; WB’s biggest China bow ($57.3M); and WB’s biggest IMAX opening ($18M).
So...it made lots of money, which we kind of all knew would happen.
And now the not so good news...the reviews weren't good. At all.
Even though I didn't think it was THAT bad...it definitely was disappointing in many ways. Thankfully, there was one moment in the film where the audience actually clapped (including myself)...
Yep...Wonder Woman's arrival definitely helped pump some much-needed adrenaline into the lethargic lull that most of the audience had been lead into during the previous meandering two hours of the film.
Let's hope the Wonder Woman movie next June 2017 balances things out and re-sets the stage for a better Justice League movie that follows a few months later in November.

Gary Shandling
Very sad news...
Garry Shandling, the writer, actor, producer and comedian best known for his long-running and influential HBO series The Larry Sanders Show and his groundbreaking sitcom It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, died today at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
He was 66.
Running for 89 episodes from 1992-98, The Larry Sanders Show was instrumental in establishing HBO as a producer of original quality television programming and had enormous influence on TV comedy, particularly the deadpan, laugh-track-free tone and the frequent appearances by celebrities playing themselves.
Shandling was known to younger audiences for his appearances as Senator Stern in the Marvel films Iron Man 2 and Captain America: Winter Soldier. Other film roles include the Mr. Show film Run Ronnie Run, Zoolander, Dr. Dolittle and Over the Hedge. His final appearance in filmed entertainment was in a January episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee entitled “It’s Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive.”
He was a very funny guy who will definitely be missed by many.

Island Girls
io9 just posted the first image of Wonder Woman and her family from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie...
Entertainment Weekly has revealed a first look at not just Diana before she dons her classic red gold and blue costume, but her island home of Themyscira and three of the most important people in her life: her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen); General Antiope (Robin Wright); and Lieutenant Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).
It looks like a Beyonce album cover.
But, still very cool to see that Robin Wright is in it too.

Statuesque
Hot Toys has released a couple images of their upcoming Wonder Woman statue from Batman v Superman.
It looks just like Gal Gadot does in the movie.
They really do an amazing job on many of the faces and eyes on these statues...
I want.

Trailer Park
A couple of new trailers were released today. First one is for X-Men: Apocalypse...
It's looking really good...action-packed and fun-filled.
And next, a new Legend of Tarzan trailer...
As much as I hate to admit it...this actually looks like it might be pretty good.
Of course, the last James Bond movie, Spectre looked like it would be good too.
Yet...it was not.
Disappointingly so.

My Precious
Chelsea Handler's new Netflix talk show is set to begin airing on May 11th. At the moment it has no official title, so she took to Twitter and asked people to send her their ideas and Netflix would choose their favorite.
I love the one at top...it made me laugh out loud.
And I mean LOUD.
I'm very much looking forward to this. Also, if you haven't seen her Chelsea Does series (also on Netflix), you must.
It's awesome.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
The first trailer for Tim Burton's new movie was just released today...
I don't know anything about the books, but this trailer looks beautifully shot (as most Tim Burton's movies are) and is definitely now added to my must-see list!
The movie opens September 30th.

Underoos!
The final Captain America: Civil War trailer was released today and a certain arachnid Avenger shows up on the scene...
This one is definitely more action-packed than the last trailer and, besides Spider-Man, features a bit more Black Panther and Ant-Man.
It's looking really good.
May 6th...your money is on the dresser.

Krush Groove
A new poster for X-Men: Apocalypse was released today.
They look more like a 90's rock band than Superheroes.

National Cereal Day
I celebrated today by having Apple Jacks while wishing I had a whopping bowl of Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries as well.
Now that I know this is an actual holiday, I'll plan a bit better for next year.

She seems peaceful
The first trailer for the upcoming female Ghostbusters was released today...
It's got a really funny cast and looks just as silly as the first one...so that's promising.
The film opens on July 15th.

Totally sick
A new trailer was released today for Finding Dory, the much-anticipated sequel to Finding Nemo...
It looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun and, I'm just putting it out there, I'm guessing it's gonna make waves of cash.
Just sayin'.
