Bourne Legacy trailer

The_Bourne_Legacy_Trailer_Jason_Bourne_Was_Just_The_Tip_Iceberg_1328722762

The new trailer for The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner (but without Matt Damon, from the previous trilogy) came out today...

It looks exactly like the first three Bourne movies, just with a new "Jason" character.

I'm in.

Les Miserables trailer

Les-Miserables-Movie-Pictures

The first trailer for the movie Les Miserables was released today, with Anne Hathaway singing some of "I Dreamed a Dream" over the sweeping visuals.

She's no Susan Boyle, but I do like her version of the song as well.

The movie opens in December.

Bare Minimum

gareth-cover

Gay rugby player, Gareth Thomas, is on the cover of the new Attitude magazine for their "Naked Issue". I had to edit my image so Photobucket wouldn't delete it (he was covering his princess zone properly, but they can be mighty conservative over there).

If you want to see the full uncensored cover, click here.

Otherwise, here is what the newsstand copy near you will likely show.

GT

He's very...photogenic.

EliadCohen01

Happy Memorial Day!

I saw this funny video for Gay-ville, a site listing gay-friendly apartments around the world, that was co-founded by the swarthy Eliad Cohen.

The ending to the video made me laugh out loud.

It turns out that Eliad Cohen is a very popular Israeli producer, model, and actor. He also has quite an array of enjoyable photos online.

I think Dancing With the Stars needs to book him for a season or three.

I don't care if he can dance or not.

Where's Shirley?

Yet another reason why I have no desire to skydive...

An elderly woman named Laverne says she is fulfilling a decade-long dream of skydiving at the start of a souvenir video recorded at the Parachute Center in Northern California.

But the dream devolves into a living nightmare in a hurry as the 80-year-old is pushed out of the plane by her tandem master with a loose harness that quickly comes undone, leaving the poor woman dangling thousands of feet above ground.

That instructor really did push her out of the plane when it was obvious that she was terrified.

I'll just watch from the bar on the ground, thank you very much.

Before they were stars

Gosling

Every actor has to start out somewhere (Ryan Gosling in Young Hercules) and, as you'll see by these videos, their roles were not always as glamorous as they are today (Ryan Gosling now).

RyanGosling5

So, take a little trip back in time to see some of your favorite actors featured in roles that, although likely not their brightest moments, got them to where they are today.

This first compliation features: Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington, Jeff Goldblum, Clint Eastwood, James Franco, Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, Jason Bateman and Chevy Chase.

The second features: Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, Steve Buscemi, Paul Newman, Robin Williams, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Katie Holmes.

Lots of interesting hair-dos and retro clothes that almost make Jeggings not seem quite so bad.

Jack needs a snack!

Fox

Here is a new pic of Matthew Fox (from Lost and Party of Five) from his new film, Alex Cross...

The actor will soon appear in Alex Cross, a film based on the action novel series, I, Alex Cross by James Patterson. Fox will play a skilled assassin who is living undercover as an MMA fighter.

He looks like he stepped out of the latest skeletal tour of Bodies the Exhibition.

I prefer Lost-Jack to Toxic Avenger-Jack.

Bank accounts will rise

hr_The_Dark_Knight_Rises_14

The new poster for the upcoming Batman movie was released yesterday.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that it's gonna make just a "little" money when it comes out July 20th.

Trailer. Bond Trailer.

skyfall-movie-poster

The first teaser trailer for the new James Bond film, Skyfall, was released today...

Looks like the others, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Also more sad music news...

Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the group the Bee Gees behind "Saturday Night Fever" and other now-iconic sounds from the 1970s, died on Sunday, according to a statement on his website.

He will be missed.

Last Dance

DonnaSummerArtistOfTheYear

Very sad news in the music world...

Donna Summer, the "Queen of Disco" whose hits included "Hot Stuff," "Bad Girls," "Love to Love You Baby" and "She Works Hard for the Money," has died. She was 63.

Summer first rose to fame the mid-'70s, thanks to "Love to Love You Baby." The song, with Summer's whispered vocals and orgasmic groans helped define the mid-'70s disco trend and hit No. 2 in 1976. Summer followed the song with such hits as "I Feel Love," "Last Dance" and a disco-fied version of the Richard Harris hit "MacArthur Park," which outdid Harris' version by hitting No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. It was Summer's first of four chart-toppers.

Her music will definitely live on for decades to come.

Magic Men

Entertainment Weekly is doing quite a nice visual feature on the cast of Magic Mike.

They're obviously focusing on the mysterious plot points and cast of shy characters.

And I'm totally okay with that.

Here is what the cover you'll get in your mailbox will look like (smiling Channing), followed by the inside cover (smiling subscribers).

If only magazine covers could animate like that.

Here is the latest trailer for the film:

I don't watch Criminal Minds, but I did read that Shemar Moore was in Cannes this week hanging out on a boat during the show's hiatus.

ObamaTime

President Obama's support of gay marriage announcement last week has sparked quite a lot of debate and some very vibrant magazine covers lately on Newsweek and The New Yorker (fyi...he's obviously not gay, for those who only read things literally).

Wild Things

590_am_sendak_about-1

Very sad news today...

Maurice Sendak, author of the classic children's book "Where the Wild Things Are," has died, a spokeswoman for HarperCollins Publishers said Tuesday. He was 83.

Sendak illustrated nearly 100 books during a 60-year career, winning dozens of accolades as he endeared himself to generations of children reared on his fanciful stories. One critic called him "the Picasso of children's literature."

Photobucket

Although I thought the movie was very slow, it certainly did an amazing job of creating the world where the Wild Things existed.

Photobucket

And, if you really want to experience the weird world of the Wild Things...you need listen no further than Christopher Walken reading (and randomly commenting along the way) the book.

"He chases a dog....with a fork. I don't really think he's gonna eat it. Kids are jerks, anyway."

Hilarious.

Marvel-ous

Photobucket

The Avengers movie made just a little money this weekend...

Marvel’s The Avengers is on pace to put the Disney film’s 3-day record-breaking opening weekend’s domestic cume about $205M and its global total near $650M.

Here are just a few records it broke:

Biggest domestic opening weekend of all time.

Fastest film to reach $200M (3 days).

Highest Saturday of all time: $69.7 M.

Passed international box office totals of Captain America
($192M), Iron Man ($266.7M), Thor ($268.3M), and Iron
Man 2 ($311.5M) in 12 Days of release.

Highest grossing opening weekend in IMAX's history.

Not too shabby.

Oh, and very few people were aware that Ellen was in the movie as well...

I think "The Rambler" really is a nice addition to the cast.

I hope she gets her own spin-off soon.

Super Friday

Chris-Hemsworth-Robert-Downey-Jr-and-Chris-Evans-in-The-Avengers-2012-Movie-Image-516x340

The Avengers opens today...exciting!

It's already made over $300 million internationally (it opened earlier overseas) and I can't wait to see it!

Marvel’s The Avengers from Disney could close in on $160M when it opens in North America this weekend and $425M when it debuts in Russia and China for a possible total near $585M through Sunday. Even very conservative estimates put the worldwide total at $500M through Sunday when Joss Whedon’s actioner will be open in every movie territory except Japan.

amazing-spider-man-lizard

Also, the new trailer for The Amazing Spiderman was released this week as well.

It's looking pretty good too.

I love me some superhero movies!

I'd like to thank Crayola

the-scream-edvard-munch-apjpg-ede55a4033531bb6

I really should have kept my early pre-school drawings...

Edvard Munch's 1895 crayon drawing "The Scream" sold for $119.9 million Wednesday night, making it the most expensive artwork ever sold at auction. The auction, conducted by Sotheby's New York, lasted twelve minutes.

The previous record-holding work was a 1932 Pablo Picasso painting called "Nude, Green, Leaves, and Bust," which sold in 2010 for $106.5 million.

That is usually the face I make when I look at my bank account balance.

No, thanks

Eli_Roth_s_Goretorium

Perhaps this is just another sign that the end of the world really is near...

The man who brought the tourism horror of Hostel to the big screen is bringing a whole new type of fright to Sin City. Eli Roth’s Goretorium haunted house is scheduled to open on September 27 in Las Vegas, right in time for Halloween.

Nothing says "Enjoy your vacation!" like watching a loved one getting their tendons cut while strapped to a chair or having their face ripped off by a bear trap.

Please...make it stop.
