Joe Manganiello (the werewolf from True Blood) is gracing the cover of Men's Health UK this month.
In the interview, he talks about how he feels better now than he did when he was a kid.
"I'm not 18 anymore," Manganiello admitted. "But you won't hear me saying that, because me at 36 would destroy me as a teenager. In my mid-30s I'm making bigger gains than I've ever made in my life."
Manganiello also dished about starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming thriller "Ten."
"We had a photo shoot for the movie poster. I was wearing a sleeveless top, crossing my arms and flexing," Manganiello explained.
"Arnold came in and said 'I see you're flexing your biceps. Don't do that. Keep it loose and [with crossed arms] put the other hand back to push [the muscle forward] - you'll get an extra three inches."
"you'll get an extra three inches."
Ughhhh....too many possible snarky responses for that one.
I forgot to record the MTV Movie Awards last night because I was out seeing Charlize Theron (above) in Snow White and the Huntsman (which I really enjoyed).
However, it appears that Joe Manganiello arrived in his Sunday best to present an award with his Magic Mike co-stars...
Those "spontaneous" podium bits almost always fail and, although this one ranks right up there with the rest, I fully support them using Joe for all future impromptu sketches.
W Magazine has put together a series of "Pillow Tweets" photos that feature a variety of celebrities in bed (some wearing more clothes than others). The best part about the whole layout was this user comment, regarding the photo of True Blood's Joe Manganiello...
Dear sweet baby Jesus with your golden fleecy diapers and your fists of fury, please bring Joe Manganiello to me and make him mine.
Joe Manganiello (the werewolf from True Blood) appears to be taking a little break between shooting his new stripper movie, Magic Mike (directed by Steven Soderbergh). Here is a bit about the movie...
The film, which is wrapping this week, stars Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum in a Saturday Night Fever-type coming-of-age drama about a young exotic dancer who is schooled by a veteran of the trade.
The film’s based on Tatum’s own experiences when he became an exotic dancer before breaking into acting.
The film has drawn an ab-centric cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello.
I wonder what they'll focus on in the trailers to get people to come out to see this movie?
The fourth season of True Blood starts on Sunday and, although I'm no marketing expert, I think I've started to pick up on a very subtle, yet consistent, promotional theme over the past two seasons...
There is no actual blood used in their marketing photos.
I know it sounds like a madcap conclusion to draw, but I've done extensive research to prove my theory. Just bear with me...
I really think I'm on to something here...it's the only consistent visual theme that I've noticed in every one one of these articles.
Perhaps they thought that having blood in the title and then blood on promotional materials may have been too obvious and, perhaps, off-putting to the viewing audience. So, they went in the complete opposite direction hoping that Joe-public wouldn't be on to their scheme.
HBO, you may not think we are sophisticated enough to notice these kinds of things...
But we do.
We notice.
Speaking of noticing, one of my favorite blogs JoeMyGod, linked to my research today. I'm very honored and glad that countless others will now have access to this very important marketing and PR study. Thanks Joe!
Terminator Genisys opens today, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Khaleesi from Game of Thrones and a couple other folks. The trailer looks pretty good and, Arnold's waxen face aside, I bet it'll still do pretty well at the box office this weekend.
There is another movie that opens today as well, but the name escapes me.
Joe Manganiello's documentary, La Bare, released its first trailer to the internets today. After co-starring in Magic Mike, Manganiello decided to make his own film about the world of male strippers of La Bare Dallas, the most popular male strip club in the world. Here's the trailer…
It looks like a lower-budget Magic Mike, but without any of the famous people.
True Blood has introduced a new werewolf character, Alcide, played by the average-looking Joe Manganiello. Here is what he had to say about the intense research he did to create this very complex character...
"Vampires can get away with having very slight builds and the audience will still believe that they're super powerful. Werewolves are animals and in my mind they should be very muscular. Not an extra ounce of fat on them. Really ripped. I wanted people to look at Alcide and think, 'wow, he's a super strong animal'.
