Bear-ly Legal
The first trailer for Ted 2 was released today (starring Mark Wahlberg again)...
I loved the first one and the sequel appears to be more of the same, which is just fine with me.
I'm in.

Blonde Ambition
The Internets were abuzz today after Jason Momoa revealed at Sundance that his Aquaman won't have the historic character's signature blonde locks...
A 74-year-old woman proclaiming to be a huge fan of the Aquaman comic books wanted to know if Momoa's King Of The Seven Seas will have a beard and mustache. "Well, just going off what you've seen so far ma'am, I don't think he is going to be blonde or white," Momoa stated.
It is shocking news, since we all know that Jason was specifically cast because of his...
Hair.
I have faith that people will find something else to focus on when his character finally appears on screen.

Who you gonna call?
It appears that the cast of the Ghostbusters remake has been decided...
Sony Pictures and director Paul Feig have found their foursome to reboot the Ghostbusters franchise. Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig are rejoining their Bridesmaids helmer Feig on the pic, with Saturday Night Live castmembers Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones also coming aboard.
We’re hearing the studio is still in negotiations but Feig apparently is confident enough about locking his cast that will fill the iconic roles played by Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson: The news came via a Feig tweet.
I love me some Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon is always funny on SNL...so this might just be a hoot.
And a hollar.

What is internet anyway?
They should just make a reality show out of this new BMW commercial and let Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel travel the world in that car babbling as they try to figure out what things mean without access to any research, other than a single phone call to a mysterious unseen woman named Allison (much like Nile's wife Maris on Fraiser).
I'm sure hilarity would ensue.

Schmidt floats
Netflix has released a trailer for their upcoming comedy series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, created by Tina Fey, It looks pretty funny...
After living in a cult for fifteen years, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) decides to reclaim her life and start over in New York City. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, and a couple of way-past-due library books, she’s ready to take on a world she didn’t even think existed anymore. Wide-eyed but resilient, nothing is going to stand in her way. She quickly finds a new job (working for 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski), a new roommate (Tituss Burgess – 30 Rock), and a new beginning. The cast also includes Lauren Adams, Sara Chase, Sol Miranda and Emmy winner Carol Kane.
I really enjoyed Ellie Kemper on The Office and am a big fan of anything Jane Krakowski and Tina Fey do.
So, I may need to get the Netflixs on my Internets and watch it.
I wonder if the Googles can help me set that up by March 6th?

Bon Voyager!
I can't believe it's been 20 years ago, today, that Star Trek: Voyager premiered. It was one of my favorite of the various Star Trek series, primarily because they had Kate Mulgrew as the captain. I thought she did an awesome job and looked forward to watching the show weekly.
Lordy...time does fly.

Blurbs
Honest Trailers has just released their review of Gone Girl (one of my favorite movies of last year) and, like the others, it's pretty entertaining. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book (and plan to), then definitely hold off on watching this...it's filled with spoilers.

Spy
The Red Band (ie: lots-o-swearing) trailer to Melissa McCarthy's upcoming movie, Spy, was just released and it looks pretty funny...
I loved Heat and she always makes me laugh, so I'll definitely be checking this out.

Taylor Negron
Some very sad news over the weekend...
Taylor Negron—an actor, playwright and essayist who became "fame-ish" after appearing in more than 100 films and television shows—died Saturday. He was 57.
Although Negron never became a household name, he appeared in some of the biggest films and TV shows of the 80's and 90's, including Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Easy Money, Punchline, Seinfeld, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He continued to act, write and paint until his illness worsened in recent years.
He was such a funny character actor and essayist. I always enjoyed watching him, no matter what the venue.
Taylor also wrote a very insightful final article for xoJane that everyone should read. Here is the article and a little sample of what he has to say...
The demographic that is most the stunning is the number of fans I have in the homeless population. One friendly guy who lives near me in a cluster of garbage cans always high-fives me because I was in "The River’s Edge." I love that guy. Because we are both That Guys.
But my heyday is coming to an end.
Parts for the alternative everyman are increasingly scarce. I have had to let go of my dream of being in a Hobbit movie. This will never happen unless Bilbo Baggins orders a pizza and we all know that when a hobbit orders a pizza in Middle Earth, someone is going down a wet, nasty, dirty hole and as I would say if I were in a buddy cop movie: "I am getting too old for this shit."
I don't miss Hollywood.
But we will definitely miss him.

Virtual Reality
The internets were abuzz today regarding Justin Bieber's unretouched Calvin Klein photos and, when you see them side-by-side...it's remarky markable how much of a tuneup they gave him.
Besides the increased pecs/biceps, more prominent crotch, and increased leg definition, I think it's hilarious that they shrunk his head.
It just goes to show you that, with the magic of Photoshop, any of us could be an underwear model now.
I think I'll skip the gym today and dive into that gallon of ice cream gathering frost in my freezer.

He's got high hopes
The first trailer for Paul Rudd's upcoming movie, Ant Man, was just released...
I don't know a thing about the comic, other than the obvious assumptions based on the title (man can shrink to the size of an ant), so I'm not exactly excited about this movie.
However, I usually enjoy Paul Rudd. Plus, I also didn't know anything about or have any interest in Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy before they came out and I ended up really liking both of them.
So, I'm going to keep an open mind and trust Marvel on this one.

Oh, the humanity
Entertainment Weekly hosted a Cards Against Humanity game between three of the ladies of Downton Abbey (Mrs. Patmore, Mrs. Hughes, and Lady Edith) and it's quite entertaining…
I wonder if they snacked on any of this "delicious" looking Dowager Countess cake…
Hmmm…what do you think the real Dowager Countess thinks of her frosted likeness?
I had a feeling she'd say that...

Donna Douglas
Sad news over the weekend…
Donna Douglas, who played the shapely, blue-eyed daughter of the suddenly wealthy mountaineer Jed Clampett on “The Beverly Hillbillies,” the wildly popular television sitcom of a half-century ago, died on Thursday in Baton Rouge, La.
Ms. Douglas appeared in various movie and television roles before and after “The Beverly Hillbillies,” which ran on CBS for nine seasons. But she was destined to be forever remembered as Elly May Clampett, the lovely ingénue of the Ozarks.
I used to really enjoy watching that show over the years and in reruns.
She will be missed.
