Mark Salling
Very sad news today...
Mark Salling, the former Glee star who last month pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, was found dead today in Los Angeles, a law enforcement official has confirmed to Deadline. The actor was 35.
The source said the death is being investigating by authorities as a possible suicide, and the coroner’s office is waiting to inform his next of kin and family members. His body was found near his home in Sunland, in northern Los Angeles.
The news comes just more than a month after Salling pleaded guilty to a federal offense of possessing child pornography, and ahead of a scheduled March 7 date for his sentencing.
It's always sad when someone so young and with so much success gets, somehow, derailed in life and things take a dramatic turn for the worse.

The skipper too
A new trailer for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again was released last night, this one featuring Cher..
I enjoyed the first movie, but this trailer makes the sequel look like it was mostly shot on a soundstage, which is a little troubling. I don't want it to look like an episode of Gilligan's Island.
Hopefully the next trailer will look a bit better.
The film opens on July 20th.

Rim Reaper
The new trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising was released this week...
I really do want to be excited for this movie, but honestly...it just looks like another Transformers movie, but without Mark Wahlberg.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I'm sure it'll be action-packed and fun-filled and will be awesome on the big screen.
But, I think I'll just sit this one out until it shows up on the Netflix or the HBOs.

Carol Danvers arrives
The first set photo of Brie Larson wearing her Captain Marvel costume was revealed today. I'm not sure if that's the final version (her pants don't seem to fit very well) or just a test.
The costume looks more like a mechanic's jumpsuit than her comic costume. Hopefully they'll tune it up a bit and make it look a little better onscreen. They do tend to update the character costumes from one movie to the next.
It's rumored that she's actually currently filming her first appearance in Avengers 4 (or a last-minute addition to the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War) before she starts filming her solo film, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out over the next couple films.

Big Little Accents
Well, it looks like the second season of Big Little Lies just got a lot bigger..
Meryl Streep, the most Oscar-nominated actress in history, is joining the second installment of HBO’s Emmy-winning limited series Big Little Lies.
Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry (played by Alexander Skarsgard in Season 1). Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers.
I really enjoyed the first season and was already looking forward to the second before this was announced.
Mentally setting my DVR right now.

Golden Girl
It's Betty White's 96th birthday today.
She's still one of the funniest women on the planet and just keeps getting better with age.
Happy Birthday Betty!

Shrinky Dinks
A new photo from Ant-Man and the Wasp was released today and it finally shows the two of them together in costume. Here is the film's synopsis...
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and The Wasp, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a super hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
Their helmets are very retro...not sure whether I like them or not.
Guess I'll decide once the movie opens on July 6th.

Casa de Martin
Ricky Martin will be gracing the cover of the February issue of Architectural Digest, along with his husband, Jwan Yosef, and their two kids. They also gave a video tour of their house and, as you can imagine....it's just a wee bit awesome.
Their house is pretty spectacular and I'm just a "little" bit jealous.
I wonder if they need a pool boy?

Triumph and Sacrifice
A new trailer for the upcoming Superman-related TV series, Krypton, was released today...
It looks somewhat visually interesting, but I'm not sure that a show about the fighting on Krypton before Superman was born is enough to hold a viewer's interest.
I mean, the Kryptonians won't have Superman strength or powers or fly, so I'm not sure watching them punch or shoot each other each week is gonna be all that exciting.
But, I'm willing to give it a couple of episodes and judge from there when it starts airing on March 21st on Syfy.

Lady Bird
A new trailer for the Jennifer Lawrence action movie, Red Sparrow, was released today...
It looks a little Atomic Blonde-ish, but still well directed and action-packed.
The movie opens March 2nd.

The waiting Game
Well, it looks like we won't get the final season of Game of Thrones for another YEAR...
The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season in 2019.
I think Cersei expresses exactly how I feel about that in the image above.
