I love the concept of the upcoming HBO show, The Leftovers. It focuses on what might happen if a Rapture-like event occurred and several million people suddenly, and without explanation, disappeared from the planet. Here is the trailer...
What I like most about the plot is that it's not known what really happened. So religious people assume it was the Rapture and many of the most devout are left wondering why they didn't get taken. The rest of the world has to figure out how to carry on (or whether they even want to) without their missing loved ones, not knowing whether they are still alive somewhere or gone for good.
This should be very interesting...can't wait!
The Leftovers premieres on HBO June 15th.
