Time for pie

The Centerville, Ohio group The Cream Pies, created a video tribute to Ellen Degeneres and, although they claim they didn't make it to get on the show...she brought them on anyway.



The song is cute and it's certainly something Ellen would promote. But, I just can't seem to figure out why the video went viral so quickly...





It must just be their cheerful personalities.

I appears that Ellen and Portia got married this weekend:

Chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi were married following an intimate ceremony in the grounds of their LA home.

Fewer than 20 of the couple's family and friends gathered at sunset for the civil service ceremony.

I'm really happy for them, but kind of surprised that they had only 20 people at the ceremony. I mean, it's not like Scott Baio and Soliel Moon Frye got hitched....it's ELLEN.

She's got a heapin' helpin' of celebrity friends and hangers-on...you'd think the wedding party alone would be over 20.

Maybe they had a ginormous reception at Dodger Stadium.



I'm sure the tabloids will poop out every intimate detail over the next few weeks.

Until then...congrats ladies!

Back to Nature

This could be fun...

Ellen DeGeneres has signed on to play Mother Nature in an untitled comedy being produced by Walden Media. The project is being penned by "Sex and the City" writer-executive producer Jenny Bicks. In the film, which springs from an original concept inside Walden, the Emmy-winning talk show host will return to Earth for the first time since the planet's creation.

If the script and effects are good, I think that Ellen could have a blast with this role. Kind of like George Burns did when he did the "Oh, God!" series of films.

Of course, when I read this, I immediately thought of one my all-time favorite series of commercials...



If you think it's butter, but it's NOT....it's Chiffon.

Of course, the 70's are gone and, it seems, Mother Nature now has more important things to focus on than margarine or the environment...



Try regifting that.

Wedding footage

Ellen DeGeneres started the new season of her talk show this week and, as promised, showed some behind the scenes photos and video footage from her wedding.

The first clip is funny and features some nice photos, while the second clip features a very touching behind-the-scenes video of the actual wedding day. They both seem to be very emotional and quite happy. I really like the song "Today" by Joshua Radin, that is sung by and performed at their wedding, in the second clip.

If I'm ever fortunate enough to have a wedding, I think I'll feature that song too.

Also, Ellen showed this clip of her going out to meet her new Warner Bros. neighbors on the lot, where she "accidently" hits Julia Louis Dreyfus in the face with a rock.

Julia's profanity-laden response is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time!

Here come the judge

I have really missed watching new episodes of the "Ellen Degeneres Show" over the summer. So, I was very excited to see the premiere of her seventh season on Tuesday.



Besides having David Beckham on to discuss underwear, she also boogied with the top ten dancers from "So You Think You Can Dance".

And she didn't just do her usual audience shuffle....she brought it!

So, besides having my daily dose of her humor and positive vibe back on schedule, it was also announced today that Ellen would be replacing Paula Abdul as a judge on the new season of "American Idol", starting in January.

Now, after years of avoiding the Idol madness, I may actually have to start watching the show again to see how she does.

Ellen gives advice

Ellen DeGeneres gave the commencement speech to the graduating class of Tulane University in New Orleans (the first class to graduate after hurricane Katrina) this past weekend and, as usual, she was hilarious...and quite touching.



I've always liked her sense of humor, mainly because she proves that you don't have to be hurtful or mean to get a laugh and that, sometimes, you just have to risk it all and be true to yourself and others in order to be the best person that you can be each day on this planet.

The world should take a lesson.

And the Oscar goes to...

The Academy released its first promo for the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony today, featuring host Ellen DeGeneres.

The first trailer for Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo was released today...



Ellen Degeneres' Dory was definitely my favorite character from the first film and it looks like she's back in all her muttering and hilarious glory for this one too.

Well played, Disney.

The film opens June 17th.

Wedding Belles

It looks like Jodie Foster has finally tied the knot…

Jodie Foster is a married woman! The Oscar-winner and photographer Alexandra Hedison made their relationship official this past weekend, after dating for nearly a year.

Alexandra is a photographer and actress who appeared on Showtime’s The L Word. Alexandra publicly dated Ellen DeGeneres, before breaking up in 2004.

Jodie, 51, ended her longtime relationship with Cydney Bernard back in 2008, after 20 years together. 

My invitation was likely lost in the mail along with the winning lotto numbers.

I really should get a P.O. Box.

Lincoln Blogs

Barack Obama arrived in Washington this past weekend to begin the inauguration process. It's certainly an exciting time for him and the nation...so, let the festivities begin.

Lady DeGeneres

The always visually-subtle Lady Gaga was on "Ellen" Friday. You'd think, from the wild costumes and makeup, that she'd be this loud, weird rocker-chick...but she's not. She's surprisingly soft-spoken, sincere, and childlike when she speaks.



I enjoy her.

I also enjoy the song "Speechless", which she sang at the end of the show (and also on the AMA's).



For those of you who enjoy the Lady...her new CD, "Fame Monster" is really good too.
