Diesel fueled

Looks like we'll be getting another "Riddick" movie in the near future...

Vin Diesel is going back to the future to topline and produce a third chapter in the "Chronicles of Riddick" franchise, called "Riddick".

Plot details are being kept under wraps. But insiders say the third outing will hew closer in tone to the cult hit "Pitch Black" and will focus on the character of Riddick as opposed to the universe he inhabits, which was the case with the critically panned "Chronicles of Riddick." Still, "Chronicles of Riddick" earned $116 million worldwide and spawned a successful vidgame series.



I really liked "Pitch Black" and, although the sequel wasn't as good as the first, it did look great and featured Dame Judi Dench...so there's that.



"Starring Vin Diesel and Judi Dench" is not the kind of star-power promo that happens twice in one lifetime.

However, I do enjoy Vin and all his Dieselness...so, of course, I'll be there opening weekend.



Who knows which Sir (Patrick Stewart) or Dame (Ian McKellan) might show up in this sequel?

I can't wait to find out...

Summer Sun

Here are trailers for two movies that look pretty interesting for very different reasons. The first is the Fast and the Furious 6, which brings Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson back together again, along with the rest of their motley speed-zone-ignoring friends.



I don't care what anyone says, I enjoy these movies. If nothing else, it is mindless well-edited action and lovely visuals (including the scenery).



I also watched this trailer for Perfect Parents, with Naomi Watts and Robin Wright. It's about two mothers who fall in love...with each other's sons. It opens April 3rd.



I have a feeling that these Cougars are either going to be very sad or VERY happy at the end of this movie.

Just a guess....

Bloodshot

The International trailer for Bloodshot was released today...



Vin Diesel appears to be playing himself very well and it looks like a lot of things will get blown up, people will get beat up, and it's likely to all work out in the end ( while setting up for a sequel).

And I'll probably see it.

We'll see how it all turns out when the movie opens on March 13th.

She won't be ignored

The first pics of Glenn Close (left) as "Nova-Prime" in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy have surfaced...



She's got quite and "up-do" there on her noggin.



Glenn plays the leader of this motley crew of unusual superheroes...



I don't know anything about this part of the Marvel Universe, but they've pulled together a pretty interesting group of actors for various parts:



Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation and Zero Dark Thirty) as Star-Lord



Zoe Saldana (Star Trek and Avatar) as Gamora



Dave Batista (WWE wrestler) as Drax the Destroyer.



Benicio del Toro as The Collector.



Michael Rooker as Yondu.



Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies and The Hobbit) as Ronan the Accuser.



Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) as Nebula.



And, although it's not "officially" confirmed..the word on the street (and "accidentally" earlier on his Facebook page) is that Vin Diesel is about to be announced as the voice for the tree character, Groot.

Let the "wooden acting" quips begin...
