It was confirmed today that Kathy Bates will be joining American Horror Story: Hotel...

Showrunner Ryan Murphy confirmed news that the actress will be back for the FX anthology's fifth season, American Horror Story: Hotel. 

"Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. #AHSSeason5," Murphy announced. 

Starring Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Wes Bentley and Cheyenne Jackson, American Horror Story: Hotel will be the first season of the series from Murphy and Brad Falchuk without leading lady Jessica Lange. 

Bates' return, which had been rumored for months, will mark her third season with the series after her co-starring roles in Coven and Freak Show. (Bates won an Emmy for her role in Coven.)

I'm so happy that she's returning for another season and hope that her character doesn't lose her head, literally, again (which has happened the past two seasons).



Although, even without a body, she still always manages to outshine most other actors around her.

A little less Horror

Sarah Paulson is stepping back a bit from the next American Horror Story series...

Variety has learned from sources that Paulson will not appear in a significant role in the FX anthology series’ upcoming ninth season, which is titled “American Horror Story: 1984.” Paulson has appeared in all eight of the preceding seasons of the hit series, usually in a major role. It is possible Paulson could appear in a cameo. 

Paulson is currently filming the upcoming FX series “Mrs. America,” about the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. She will continue working with Murphy on the upcoming Netflix series “Ratched,” which tells the origin story of the notorious Nurse Ratched from “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” That series has received a two-season commitment.

I wasn't planning on watching the next season anyway, so that just helps seal the deal for me.

I enjoy her in anything she's in, so I'm glad that she's keeping busy with all of the other projects. I'm sure she'll be a great Nurse Ratched.

Lucky number 13

Looks like AHS has a few more good years to go...

At TCA today, FX announced a three-season pickup of its flagship drama series American Horror Story, bringing the run of Ryan Murphy’s anthology horror series to 13 seasons. 

“I’m really excited that we were able to continue to work with Ryan, and somehow it just feels really poetic to me that American Horror Story is going to have 13 seasons. That just felt right,” FX Networks chairman John Landgraf said from the stage about the mega renewal. (AHS already had been picked up for Season 10, which is next to go into production. 

Because of the number 13’s big significance in the horror genre, Deadline asked Landgraf after the session whether AHS will be ending after Season 13. “Could be,” he said. “It will be poetic, won’t it if it ends after 13 seasons?”

I hope they bring back the Coven.

This is great news....

American Horror Story is ratcheting up the Misery in Season 3. Oscar winner Kathy Bates is joining FX’s hit spookfest as a nemesis to Jessica Lange, TVLine has learned exclusively. Bates will play the best friend of Lange’s new character, who turns into her enemy. 

Details on Horror Story‘s third season remain scarce, but series cocreator Ryan Murphy previously confirmed that Lange will play a “glamour cat leading lady,” in stark contrast to her gloomy Asylumwardrobe. Ryan also teased that the new season will be "more historical in nature" and take place in modern day. 

But just like past seasons, we will see different “time periods” and “there [will] also be different cities.” Horror Story vets reuniting with Lange in Season 3 include Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga and Bates’ former Six Feet Under co-star Frances Conroy.

Kathy has actually worked with Jessica before in Men Don't Leave, one of my favorite movies from the 90's (which is also where Chris O'Donnell got his first film role).

Kathy Bates is always good in everything she does...she should be great in this too and hopefully give Miss Lange a little run for her Cra-Cra money!

The first season creeped me out frequently, but I think this one is gonna be worse.

The legendary Jessica Lange will star in the next Marc Jacobs Beauty campaign. 

This news comes after Charlotte Rampling was announced as NARS Cosmetics' new face. The "American Horror Story" actress channels classic beauty with Marilyn Monroe-esque hair and smokey eye makeup, which we can't get enough of.

The real house is for sale...

Fans of FX's American Horror Story might recognize a new listing on the Los Angeles real estate market: This six-bedroom, five-bathroom property located in Country Club Park is, more than any one actor, the real star of that gleefully twisted show.

I've been watching the show and it's definitely one of the creepiest shows I've seen in a while and, honestly, it would be really weird to live in it for the very reasons Gawker lists below...

Not mentioned in the description, but included in the asking price: A cannibalistic humunculus in the basement made up of a variety of pickled baby and roadkill parts, the ghost of a one-eyed maid who tries to hump your husband at every opportunity, a latex/breath-control enthusiast, and a pesky, chain-smoking neighbor who will appear without warning in your kitchen bearing suspicious-smelling muffins. At $4.5 million, you simply can't afford not to own this house.

"A cannibalistic humunculus"...you certainly don't get that with every new house.

Witch's honor

It appears that the Coven witches from American Horror Story will be back again in a future season...

Following a devilish return for the Coven–Murder House crossover that was Apocalypse, co-creator Ryan Murphy announced Tuesday that the witches of Miss Robichaux’s Academy will be back at least once more in the coming seasons. 

“The witches will be back,” Murphy told Entertainment Tonight during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. “Not next season, but we have something really fun planned.”

I will say that this series has had a few seasons that I didn't like or watch, but Coven and Apocalypse have been two of my favorites and it was mainly because it focused on the witches.

I like witches.

Holding out for a hero

Heroes Reborn is coming next month and the studio has released a behind-the-scenes look at what we should expect from this update...



I liked the first season of the original Heroes, but each season got progressively tiresome and ridiculous. So, let's hope they learned their lesson and give us more powers and less carnivals.

Like, NO carnivals (and that goes for you too, American Horror Story!).

This season of American Horror Story is absolutely my favorite.

I mean, Kathy Bates' head on a plate can still act circles around most other full-bodied actresses out there today.

Time will tell if Lady Gaga ends up with a big role or is killed off in a few episodes (like Adam Levine and Patti LaBelle experienced).

FOX has released its first full trailer for the upcoming Ryan Murphy series Scream Queens...



I enjoyed most of Glee and all but one of the seasons of American Horror Story (Carnival was a mess), but, as much as I enjoy some of the cast, this looks a wee bit too campy for me.

However, I'll watch a couple of episodes first before I decide.

It won't kill me.

At least I hope not.
