A Spy is Bourne

 photo 044113a8-dee5-40f0-bb0c-ae7929e21366_zpsttui2oud.jpg

Matt Damon helped prank some people to promote the upcoming Jason Bourne movie as well as his partnership with Omaze...

To promote the release of the new film, Matt Damon partnered up with Omaze, an online charity auction organizer to raise money for water.org, a nonprofit aid organization cofounded by the actor whose goal is to bring safe drinking water and sanitation to certain areas of developing countries.

In a Los Angeles park, a stranger hands unsuspecting people a cell phone from which they start getting spy-like instructions from Damon such as tying their shoelaces, collecting an envelope from a guy on a bridge or buying a $14 hotdog. It’s the classic Jason Bourne scenario, only the people being filmed have no idea Mr. Bourne himself is on the other end of the line.

Although it's pretty entertaining, it's a bit scary how easily people will just do what someone else says without having any information first.

Most crimes don't end with Matt Damon giving you tickets to a premiere.

If they did...we'd all be criminals.

Bourne Again

 photo 520ea601-ba6f-4082-ad67-bb24e1f0bab6_zpskyzkxr72.png

As you can see from this tweet from the set, a new Bourne Identity movie just started filming yesterday (with Matt Damon once again reprising his role as Jason Bourne).

I really enjoyed the first three with Matt Damon (not so much the one with Jeremy Renner).

And, as you can also see...Matt has really "let himself go" since the last films.

I need to get his trainer, cook, money...pretty much everything he has.

Lucky talented bastard.

I'm definitely looking forward to this new Bourne movie hitting the theaters sometime next year!

Bourne Legacy trailer

The_Bourne_Legacy_Trailer_Jason_Bourne_Was_Just_The_Tip_Iceberg_1328722762

The new trailer for The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner (but without Matt Damon, from the previous trilogy) came out today...

It looks exactly like the first three Bourne movies, just with a new "Jason" character.

I'm in.

Bourne again

The first official trailer for Jason Bourne was released recently...

It looks as exciting as the other three that Matt Damon starred in, which is a good sign. I didn't care for the Jeremy Renner one as much, so am happy to see Matt back in action now that he's returned safely from Mars.

The movie opens July 29th.

Albert Finney

 photo Screen Shot 2019-02-08 at 7.02.26 PM_zps35pu1lqg.png

Sad news today...

Oscar-nominated actor Albert Finney, one of the great British actors of his generation who made a worldwide name for himself in 1963’s Tom Jones and maintained a strong career through 2012’s Skyfall, died Thursday in London. He was 82.

Among his Oscar-nominated performances were roles in Tom Jones, Murder on the Orient Express, The Dresser, Under the Volcano and Erin Brockovich.Other highlights of his shape-shifting career include Two for the Road (1967), Scrooge (1970), Annie (1982), The Dresser (1983), Miller’s Crossing (1990), Erin Brockovich (2000), Big Fish (2003), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (2007) and The Bourne Legacy (2012).

While his early reputation was staked largely on drama, Finney found some of what would become his most beloved roles in outsized comedic performances, from his mean-as-dirt Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1970 musical version of the Dickens classic, to his Daddy Warbucks in Annie.

He was a great actor and had a very long and successful career.

He will be missed.

James Blonde

Charlize Theron has two big movies opening up in the next few months and she appears to be kicking all kinds of ass in both of them. The first trailer is for Atomic Blonde....

It reminds me of the Bourne Identity movies...especially the one-shot fight sequences.

Looks pretty good and she's always awesome to watch.

Atomic Blonde opens on my birthday, July 28th.

Charlize is also playing the villain in the new Fast and the Furious movie...

She is definitely causing just a "wee" bit of chaos for the car kids.

I'm sure lots of cars will go fast and crash and then other things will happen...and then it'll end.

Until the next sequel.

Regardless...I'm still going to see it.

The Fast and Furious 8 opens on April 14th.

Tres Jolie

I saw Salt this week and really enjoyed it.

It's really well-directed, action-packed, and is very similar in look/feel to the Bourne Identity movies, but with Angelina beautifully serving up the can of Whoop-ass instead of Matt Damon.

So, if you're in the mood for dinner and a movie this weekend...

Don't pass on the Salt.
