Jimmy Kimmel put together another edition of Celebrities Reading Mean Tweets About Themselves and, like the others, it is hilarious.
The folks that take a beating this round are Gwyneth Paltrow, Lena Dunham, Gerard Butler, Ty Burrell, Bob Newhart, Britney Spears, Geena Davis, Chris Pratt, Chloe Grace Moretz, Scott Foley…
I. Love. These.

Jurassic Parks
The director of next summer's Jurassic World movie tweeted this out to Chris Pratt (the star of his movie) to wish him well on today's opening of Guardians of the Galaxy…

I've liked Chris since I first saw him on Parks and Recreation and I'm glad he's doing so well. I think he's going to be very busy for quite a while.
He better get ready…

Box Office Buffet

Jurassic World roared into theaters worldwide on Friday and ended up having the highest-grossing movie opening in history...
Universal Pictures today announced that with Sunday’s reported actuals, Jurassic World is now the No. 1 movie ever at both the North American and international box offices. With a worldwide opening of $524.1 million, Jurassic World takes its place as the highest-grossing opening weekend in history.
Jurassic World grossed $208.8 million at the North American box office, passing 2012’s The Avengers ($207.4 million). Internationally, the film’s final gross was raised to $315.3 million, passing 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 ($314 million).
I saw it on Friday and really enjoyed it...cool dino effects and lots of action.

Chris Pratt is already signed for a Jurassic World sequel, so hopefully there wasn't anyone out there who honestly thought he might not make it out alive from this first film.
If so, well...duh.

Space Cadets

The first trailer for Passengers was just released....
It looks pretty cool and I do like Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, so I really hope it's good.
We'll find out when the movie opens on December 21st.

Instaglam

Nick Jonas and Chris Pratt seem to be very proud of their upcoming magazine covers...

I need to get a stylist, a make-up artist, and one of those gym bodies that all the kids seem to be sporting these days.
Dear Santa...

Raptor Wrangling

A new trailer for Jurassic World was released during the Superbowl yesterday and it featured some new footage that included Chris Pratt training some Velociraptors...
The movie is starting to look really good and the new dinosaur that they created appears to have a very large pie-hole.

It's never a good idea to be standing in front of something like that when it's hungry.
Some people never learn.
The movie opens June 12th.

Still Jonesing

Well, I guess it's time to thaw out Harrison Ford again for another Indiana Jones movie...
Director Steven Spielberg revealed at the Empire Awards last night that Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones 5 filming will begin in the UK in April 2019!
“It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here,” he said.
Set for a July 20, 2020 release date, the film will again see Spielberg teaming up with Harrison Ford, who is reprising his iconic role, and franchise producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshal. The screenplay is written by David Koepp.
I don't know that the world needs another one of these movies. The last one wasn't very good at all and, honestly, Harrison Ford is seventy-five years old and probably shouldn't be running around any jungle or desert without a nurse's aide.
However, maybe they'll introduce Chris Pratt into the series to take over the role and let Harrison ride off into the sunset or straight into Shady Pines.
Whichever is more dramatic.

She won't be ignored

The first pics of Glenn Close (left) as "Nova-Prime" in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy have surfaced...

She's got quite and "up-do" there on her noggin.

Glenn plays the leader of this motley crew of unusual superheroes...

I don't know anything about this part of the Marvel Universe, but they've pulled together a pretty interesting group of actors for various parts:

Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation and Zero Dark Thirty) as Star-Lord

Zoe Saldana (Star Trek and Avatar) as Gamora

Dave Batista (WWE wrestler) as Drax the Destroyer.

Benicio del Toro as The Collector.

Michael Rooker as Yondu.

Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies and The Hobbit) as Ronan the Accuser.

Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) as Nebula.

And, although it's not "officially" confirmed..the word on the street (and "accidentally" earlier on his Facebook page) is that Vin Diesel is about to be announced as the voice for the tree character, Groot.
Let the "wooden acting" quips begin...

All aboard

Passengers opens TODAY and looks like it might be a lot of fun (which is why I'm seeing it tonight).
Speaking of fun, watch this hilarious game of insults that Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt played on a talkshow in the UK...
OMG....the winner really deserved it.
They are both very funny people.
Here's the movie trailer, if you haven't already seen it...
