Crisis On Infinite Earths

 photo C_zpszsahkim1.jpg

A trailer for the upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths was released today...

I've enjoyed seeing all of the CW heroes come together each year for their crossover events, so am really looking forward to this one too.

It all starts on Sunday December 8th.

Superman and Lois

 photo S_zpso32efocb.jpg

Looks like there may be more Super friends coming to the CW soon...

The CW’s DC universe is eying another major expansion with Superman & Lois, a present-day drama based on the DC characters, starring Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the iconic couple. The hourlong project, now in development, hails from The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing, DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV, where Helbing and Berlanti are under deals.

Hoechlin has been portraying Clark Kent/Superman on the CW’s Arrowverse series since 2016, primarily on Supergirl. Tulloch was cast as Lois Lane last year when she appeared alongside Hoechlin’s Man of Steel in the 2018 Arrowverse crossover. She has since appeared as Lois Lane on Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman. Both Hoechlin and Tulloch are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming big Arrowverse crossover event.

I enjoy him when he's on Supergirl, so we'll see if this moves forward after the pilot is complete.

I can't imagine it wouldn't.

Superman too

 photo S_zpsnlmmives.png

Here is the first picture of Brandon Routh suited up again as one of many Supermen for the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover with Supergirl and other other CW super-shows...

We’ve known for a few months the (frankly, still wild to contemplate) news that Brandon Routh would be appearing in the CW’s upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths mega-crossover of the Arrowverse and beyond, not just as Legends of Tomorrow’s Atom, but also Superman.

Well, a version of Superman amongst many, apparently—and not even the Superman Routh had previously played on the big screen either. Instead, Routh would be playing the older Superman of the iconic DC Comics Elseworlds miniseries Kingdom Come, by Mark Waid and Alex Ross.

The five-part Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover between The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and somehow basically every other old DC TV show you like begins on the CW this December.

These "events" are always fun to watch and there's even a possibility that Lynda Carter will be showing up to play a version of Wonder Woman.

I'm in!

The five-hour crossover’s first three episodes will air in December, with the final two installments arriving after the winter hiatus in Jan. 2020.

Here’s the full schedule below, with some of the shows airing on special nights:

  •  Supergirl: Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m.
  •  Batwoman: Monday, Dec. 9 at 8 p.m.
  •  The Flash: Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m.
  •  Arrow: Tuesday, Jan 14 at 8 p.m.
  •  DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: Tuesday, Jan 14. at 9 p.m.

Luke Perry

 photo Screen Shot 2019-03-04 at 7.22.47 PM_zpsiqqclzuz.png

More sad news today...

Riverdale and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry died today after suffering a massive stroke last week. He was 52.

Perry had starred as Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews, on the CW’s Riverdale. He began his career in the early 1980s, including an arc on the soap opera Another World, and would become a household name on Fox’s Beverly Hills, 90210, starring as Dylan McCay from 1990-95 and again from 1998-2000.

Born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, OH, his other early film credits included 8 Seconds, Normal Life opposite Ashley Judd and the Rodney King drama Riot. His other TV credits included an arc as the ill-fated Reverend Jeremiah Cloutier on HBO prison drama Oz, and the post-apocalyptic 2002-04 Showtime drama Jeremiah.

It's always sad when someone young dies and so unexpectedly. I met him once and he was a really nice guy.

It can happen to any of us on any given day.

Enjoy your life as much as you can, people.

He will be missed.

Bat-tastic!

 photo Screen Shot 2019-01-04 at 6.01.37 PM_zpsevzor1cm.png

It looks like there is a possible series in the future for the CW's Batwoman after all...

Ruby Rose’s debut as Kate Kane during the CW’s Elseworlds event last year was undeniably interesting—but the question it left everyone with was whether the network would ultimately end up moving forward with its potential plans to give the character her own Batwoman spinoff in the future.
Technically, the CW has yet to full-on greenlight the would-be Batwoman series, but the latest bit of news suggests that we’re going to be seeing quite a bit more of Kate’s Gotham in the very near future. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the CW has given a pilot pickup order for Batwoman with The Vampire Diaries’ Caroline Dries attached as showrunner and Game of Thrones veteran David Nutter as director.

I liked her on the Elseworlds episode and think she could be a fun character to follow. Plus they got a Game of Thrones director for the pilot...that sounds promising.

Time will tell.

Looks like this 3-night event is going to be a lot of fun when it starts on December 9th.

Relatively speaking

 photo 788aaa32-d3b4-489a-8d84-501cbbeffb50_zpsuycdm8qy.png

The first image of Ruby Rose as Batwoman was released today.

The CW has released a first look photo of Ruby Rose suited up as Batwoman, who will first appear in the annual DC superhero crossover event, titled Elseworlds, as well as the Batwoman series that is currently in development from producer Greg Berlanti.

Elseworlds, the annual Arrowverse crossover, will take place in Gotham City. The crossover will start with The Flash on Sunday, December 9. Arrow will continue the story on Monday, December 10, before it all comes to an end in Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11.

This story will mark Ruby Rose’s debut as Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman. While Kate is Bruce Wayne’s cousin in the DC Universe, the Batman isn’t expected to appear in this story or anywhere else in the Arrowverse any time soon.

In the CW’s Batwoman, written by Caroline Dries based on the DC characters, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Another character I know nothing about. However, I always enjoy the CW crossover event each year, so am looking forward to seeing how this character blends in with the others.

I'll be especially interested to see how they explain how she's wandering around Gotham City fighting crime and her cousin, Batman/Bruce Wayne, just "happens" to not be around.

Supergirl eventually had to bring in Superman and, I'm guessing, Batman will have to come into the picture at some point, if the Batwoman show goes to series.

Time will tell.

Superhero Fight Club 2.0

 photo d68c3aa9-9c31-4c46-9484-54848a46cc62_zpsdlyv57rw.jpg

Here's a cheesy, but fun, new video that the CW put together to help promote the upcoming seasons of their DC-entric shows that now include season 2 of Supergirl...

It is kind of entertaining that Supergirl is SO excited to be a part of something that, obviously, can't actually hurt her.

New episodes of each of the super-shows start next Monday, October 10th.

Wolfman of Steel

 photo 64f9e90b-d9dd-4cfb-9536-2903288cfecb_zpsgx1gzggk.jpg

Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin has been cast to play Superman on the next season of Supergirl...

As Supergirl prepares to fly faster than a speeding bullet from CBS to the CW, the network has announced that Everybody Wants Some! star Tyler Hoechlin has been cast as Superman/Clark Kent, the first live-action television incarnation of the Man of Steel since Smallville starring Tom Welling went off the air in 2011. As previously announced, Superman will make his debut on the DC Television universe, which also includes The Flash, Arrow, and Legends Of Tomorrow, at the start of Supergirl‘s second season when he visits Kara in National City.

I haven't seen him act in anything, but his body of work, evidently, speaks for itself.

We'll see how he fares when the second season of Supergirl debut's on the CW in the Fall.

Super Fast

 photo 04767ad4-62e1-4127-aaaf-1914dd2b36c1_zpstjbiu4ar.png

Even though it was stated early on that Supergirl would NOT crossover with The Flash TV show, we all kinda knew it would anyway....

The Fastest Man Alive will meet the Girl of Steel on March 28, when the Flash will make an appearance on CBS’ Supergirl.

According to the press release, The Flash’s Grant Gustin will only be guest-starring on Supergirl. There are no other details as of yet, including whether Melissa Benoist will return the favor on The CW’s show at a later date.

This TV team-up has been rumored basically since Supergirl was announced, since it and The Flash share the same executive producers, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg.

I'm in.

Wonder Woman: Sneak Peek

 photo 25342ef6-9e07-4204-b81d-b5bb5e243933_zpsigmmminl.jpg

The CW showed the first footage from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie last night...

It's cool that we got to see a bit of footage so early in the film shoot. I'll bet a bit of this might be from the upcoming Batman v Superman movie as well.

So far, it looks pretty awesome!

I'm really looking forward to this movie, which opens June 23rd, 2017.

Throwing Shade

 photo 0955baba-9a70-4f30-a268-9bfeef91e54f_zps8050ca32.jpg

The eagerly awaited trailer for 50 Shades of Grey was released today…

Having not read the book, my first impression of this trailer is that it looks/feels like a preview for a new season of Melrose Place, rather than this big steamy ovulation-inducing story I've heard so much about over the past couple of years.

It's definitely not 9 1/2 Weeks…feels more like 2 1/2 episodes on the CW Network.

I'm sure it'll make millions.

Jumpin' Jack

The first full trailer for the upcoming CW show, The Flash, was released today...

Although it looks well-produced, I feel like I just watched the entire show.

I'll still probably check it out for a couple episodes (especially if each episode is only five minutes long).

Ah Ah

The CW released the first pic of their new DC character (and the Arrow TV-spin-off) The Flash and, well...it definitely looks like a guy in a Flash mask.

So, there's that.

Know your audience

The CW released their new promos for the upcoming season of Arrow.

 photo 43d4f109-c717-4c0a-a7cd-cf4724445e73_zps2a876092.jpg

They are obviously focused heavily on the deep character subtext and upcoming twists and turns in the story.

 photo 266d50c6-939c-4010-b50e-3a1cc65f0aaf_zps686eeb29.jpg

They know exactly what makes their fanbase tune in weekly.

A very gripping....plot.

Arrow

arrowad1

The new Arrow show premieres tonight on the CW with Stephen Arnell in various states of undress.

Stephen-Amell

The plot to this show seems very slim and limiting (Bow and arrow-vs-Gun. Duh), so I think they're gonna have to eventually decide to just keep him completely naked in order to assure that the show stays on longer than a few episodes.

I'm totally in favor of them making that decision.

Bowfinger

arrow-stephen-amell-abs-the-cw

The CW is going to have to sell a lot of THAT, to get anyone to watch their new fall series Arrow.

arrowart1-516x315

After watching the trailer, I just don't see the hook in focusing on a character who shoots arrows really well being someone I'd want to watch every week (I mean, how many arrows can one person carry on them at any one time and still manage to out-shoot any number of guns that will likely be pointed at him?).

Here is the trailer...

It's not like he can fly, see through metal, or turn back time (only Cher can do that).

stephen-amell-shirtless_

I think their best bet is to just focus on the abs of the lead, Stephen Arnell, and hope that distracts enough from the thin "I hope I brought enough arrows to defeat this motley crew of thieves!" setup.

Photobucket

Now, if it was a workout show...they might be on to something.
