Not Lyle Waggoner

The Wonder Woman movie started filming this week and we just got our first look at Chris Pine as Steve Trevor on the set.

I'm sure he'll be fine in the role, but I really hope the director/producers figure out a way to work Lynda Carter into the movie in some way.

I mean...she was a pretty awesome Wonder Woman back in the day and still looks AMAZING at 64 freakin' years old.

I'll have what she's having.

Huntsman: Winter's War

 photo ac5ddbd8-a13a-49e7-a090-5c680df10db6_zpsraam5mrb.jpg

I'm not sure how they got an even bigger all-star cast (adding Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain) for this sequel to the "okay" Snow White and the Huntsman, but Charlize Theron was fun to watch in the first one, so we'll see how it all turns out when the movie is released on April 22nd.

On the plus side, the trailer certainly is beautifully shot...

The first trailer for Allegiant was released today...

I enjoyed the first two movies in the Divergent series and this one looks like it should be pretty good too. Time will tell...

The movie opens on March 18th.

Most of the leaves are already gone from the trees..

This season (my favorite) is going WAY too fast for me.

Get out your Windex

It's been a while since we attended the first one (2002), but Hollywood loves to make sequels to movies that made money and My Big Fat Greek Wedding made a LOT of it at the time.

So behold...the first trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

It looks like they got most of the original cast back for another round of Greek comedy.

Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a tragedy instead.

Opa!!

The movie opens March 25th.

The first trailer for Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo was released today...

Ellen Degeneres' Dory was definitely my favorite character from the first film and it looks like she's back in all her muttering and hilarious glory for this one too.

Well played, Disney.

The film opens June 17th.

What a world

The first trailer for the much-anticipated video game-to-movie, Warcraft, was just released a few minutes ago...

I love me some Sci-Fi/Fantasy movies, but I'm not sure about this one. When over half the cast is CGI (and most of the locations), it sometimes bothers me (loved Lord of the Rings, but The Hobbit films were too CGI-y).

They still have some time to tune things up and, possibly, make it look better...so I'm willing to wait and see.

The movie opens June 10th.

They're pretty decent and, with the absence of one for Luke Skywalker, continue the mystery around why he's not being featured on the main film poster and, now, these.

Maybe he's just having a manopause-related acne breakout and requested some time to heal before being ready for his close-up.

Mystery solved.

Anomalisa

The trailer for this unusual "puppet" movie, written and co-directed by Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind),  features the quote "The most human movie of the year and it doesn't star a single human".

I bet that was an "easy" sell.

Thankfully, someone bought it.

It looks very interesting to me and seems different than anything I've seen before (well, Team America's hilarious cast were actual clunky puppets, not really "people). Plus, I've enjoyed all of Charlie Kaufman's films for their quirky, yet realistic, view of the world.

Count me in.

Very exciting Star Trek news announced today...a new TV series is being created!

Prolific producer Alex Kurtzman is developing a new take on the beloved sci-fi classic for TV. The new Star Trek has been picked up straight to series at CBS, with the premiere slated for the network in January 2017. Subsequent episodes will air on its digital and VOD platform, CBS All Access.

The premiere and all subsequent episodes will then be available in the U.S. on CBS All Access, the network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service. Star Trek marks the first original series developed specifically for CBS All Access.

“We’ve experienced terrific growth for CBS All Access, expanding the service across affiliates and devices in a very short time. We now have an incredible opportunity to accelerate this growth with the iconic Star Trek, and its devoted and passionate fan base, as our first original series.”

The new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.

It'll be nice to finally have a new version of Star Trek available on TV again (although I'm not thrilled with having to pay to watch it).

Enjoyable!
