Happy New Year!

Photobucket

Break out the box wine again!

I hope you all have a great New Years weekend, whatever you end up doing. I'll be spending it with friends and, of course, Anderson and Kathy.

You know how much I enjoy her.

Modern Horror Story

Photobucket

It's amazing how easily you can change the tone of a family show and, with a little clever editing, turn it into something much more sinister. Take this alternate version of Modern Family...

I always thought that Alex was a little too smart for her own good...

Full AbFab Special

Photobucket

Here is the first new episode of Absolutely Fabulous that aired in the UK over the weekend. I'm not sure how long it will be online, so enjoy it while you can.

UPDATE 12/30: As I thought, the BBC had the full episode removed today. So, you'll need to wait for it to air here in the States in January. Until then, enjoy this video of some of the best lines/scenes from the series.

New Hobbit video blog...

Peter Jackson has released another video blog from the set of The Hobbit. This one focuses on the challenges of remote location shooting.

I'm glad that they are going to keep the facades and plants up in Hobbiton when they're done. I may have to go visit it again and compare the difference from my first trip there.

Earworm 2011

DJ Earworm has just released his annual musical mash-up of the year's most popular songs.

He's a very talented worm.

Happy Holidays!

Photobucket

As some of you may know, today is the beginning of Festivus..."a festivus for the rest of us!". I think Mr. Costanza explains the holiday best.

The "Feats of Strength" are so exhausting, but the "Airing of Grievances" helps balance things out.

I also offer you all a twisted Christmas greeting from the mind of Monty Python's Terry Gilliam...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Knight

Photobucket

A couple of other 2012 blockbusters have released new trailers this week as well. First up, the new Batman: Dark Knight Rises.

Looks dark and broody like the other two, which is a good thing.

Also, the sequel to Clash of the Titans...Wrath of the Titans.

Although I was disappointed with the first one (mainly because the 3D was so bad, it does look like they got a bigger CGI budget so they could afford some bigger titans.

Of course, bigger isn't always better.

You should see how big my Kraken has grown from all the holiday snacks this month.

First Hobbit trailer released

Photobucket

This is the one movie, above all others, that I can't wait to see in 2012...

Not as action-packed as I thought it might be, but it's early in production, so this will definitely do until the next one.

Photobucket

Also, here is another great clip from the upcoming new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous. This one is focused on the Kardashians...

I can't wait until this airs here in the states next month!

Tired Hooker

Photobucket

Mary Christmas!

Kathy Griffin has a new special airing tonight on BravoTV called "Tired Hooker".

Emmy-winning comedian Kathy Griffin’s new stand up special on Bravo is appropriately titled Kathy Griffin: Tired Hooker. The special airing Tuesday represents her fourth stand-up special in this year alone.

This year’s hit list includes Kim Kardashian’s quickie divorce from Kris Humphries, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's failed marriage, and even Nancy Grace’s wardrobe malfunction on Dancing with the Stars.

Sadly, BravoTV's Web site is pretty awful, so finding content or a video on it is a nightmare. Thankfully, Kathy appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss her new special and her upcoming New Year's Eve duties with Anderson Cooper (Yeah!)...

She still cracks me up and I really miss her D-list show...

Rugby's Finest

Photobucket

If you have a friend who enjoys sports, you might want to get them this new "Rugby's Finest" calendar for the holidays.

The players certainly appeared to be enjoying the photo shoot...

It sure beats receiving a tie or holiday sweater.

2011 Movies

Here is a mashup of the 230 movies that were released in 2011 in five minutes. I have only seen 19 of them (full list here).

Guess I have some catching up to do OnDemand soon.

The Devil's Playground

Photobucket

The real house is for sale...

Fans of FX's American Horror Story might recognize a new listing on the Los Angeles real estate market: This six-bedroom, five-bathroom property located in Country Club Park is, more than any one actor, the real star of that gleefully twisted show.

I've been watching the show and it's definitely one of the creepiest shows I've seen in a while and, honestly, it would be really weird to live in it for the very reasons Gawker lists below...

Not mentioned in the description, but included in the asking price: A cannibalistic humunculus in the basement made up of a variety of pickled baby and roadkill parts, the ghost of a one-eyed maid who tries to hump your husband at every opportunity, a latex/breath-control enthusiast, and a pesky, chain-smoking neighbor who will appear without warning in your kitchen bearing suspicious-smelling muffins. At $4.5 million, you simply can't afford not to own this house.

"A cannibalistic humunculus"...you certainly don't get that with every new house.

Pleasant dreams!

New Fang In Town

Photobucket

Guess who's joining True Blood...

After weeks of negotiations, Chris Meloni is officially joining True Blood as a series regular in Season 5. According to executive producer Alan Ball, the former Law & Order: SVU front man will play, ”An ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”

Photobucket

Photobucket

The gig brings Meloni back into the HBO fold for the first time since his days on Oz. It also mark a high-profile return to the small screen for the upcoming Man of Steel actor following his sudden departure from SVU last spring.

I fully approve of this casting.

I need to get HBO.

That wasn't a question

Photobucket

After playing the editor of Vogue in The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep has finally made the cover of the real magazine at the age of 62.

Now she’s 62, playing Margaret Thatcher—from 49 to 85—and the cover star of Vogue. She has such a big laugh bubbling under her serene expression that it finally bursts out as I duck around the o word: “I was joking with the ladies earlier,” she said (when they were having their picture taken). “And I told them I was probably the oldest person ever to be on the cover of Vogue.”

You can read the full article here.

Also, here is the latest trailer for the Iron Lady...

She really is quite the chameleon and a very entertaining lady.

I bet she would be fun to have drinks with.

Foreign Policy

Photobucket

They really do know how to publicize the new Abercrombie & Fitch store in Singapore...

Wearing just bright red sweat pants, dozens of men from locales like Brazil, United States, France, Japan and Italy descended on Orchard Road on Friday.

Photobucket

Employed by retail brand Abercrombie & Fitch, about 40 of these male models stood in a straight line flashing smiles and striking poses outside the yet-to-open flagship store in Singapore's premier shopping district.

Photobucket

Oh...and there's video too:

I don't think I own any of their clothes, but that doesn't mean I won't help promote a new store in my own way if given the chance (and many photos and a video).

It's just the kind of guy I am.

You're welcome.

Hey, Moe!

Photobucket

The trailer for the upcoming Three Stooges movie was released this week and I find so many of the negative reviews of it kind of entertaining. Especially the ones that complain that it looks really stupid and slapsticky.

Well, duh!

The trailer looks exactly like any episode of the original series I've ever seen, so I think that's kind of what they were going for.

The actors really do look and act like the original guys, which is kind of scary.

You never know, people may end up flocking to see these Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck-leheads.

I, for one, can't wait to not see it in the theater.

Colonel Potter

Photobucket

Very sad news...

Harry Morgan, who played Col. Sherman Potter on TV's M*A*S*H and Jack Webb's detective partner in Dragnet, died Wednesday at age 96.

After appearing in dramatic films The Ox Box Incident and High Noon, he began a television career in December Bride and Dragnet, before appearing in his Emmy-winning role in M*A*S*H.

Photobucket

M*A*S*H is one of my all-time favorite shows and, like the other actors, he was great in his role.

Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen.

Games People Play

Photobucket

It seems that Alec Baldwin had some trouble on his flight yesterday...

The cabin confrontation started when a flight staffer scolded Baldwin for playing the addictive, Scrabble-like game on his iPad while the airplane was parked at the gate - when electronic devices are supposed to be off - a source familiar with the incident told the Daily News. The actor, 53, got up and demanded the flight attendant's name so he could file a complaint - and the conflict escalated, the source said.

Photobucket

After the news broke, the Zynga word game released a photo to TMZ that features the phrase "Let Alec Play." And the score on the game reads: A Baldwin 1, American Air 0.

Baldwin also tweeted out the photo to his nearly 600,000 followers, along with the hash tag #theresalwaysunited.

Of course, there are always two sides to every story...

Witnesses to the Baldwin scuffle offer another story: Baldwin was angry that a couple wanted to sit in first class and was annoyed by it, got up and slammed the lavatory door so hard the pilot asked what was going on.

Alec has been known to be a bit emotionally unstable at times, so I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Kinda like Malcolm.

Ho Ho Ho's

Photobucket

Three new Absolutely Fabulous episodes are coming soon and, possibly, a movie...

Fashion addict Edina Monsoon, played by Jennifer Saunders and alcoholic best friend Patsy Stone, played by Joanna Lumley, will reunite with original cast members Jane Horrocks, Julia Sawalha and June Whitfield for three episodes of the hit comedy due to be aired at Christmas.

There are also rumours of an Absolutely Fabulous film, with Patsy and Eddie marooned on a luxury yacht.

"We thought it would be hilarious if [Edina and Patsy] went to a party on an oligarch’s yacht, got drunk, fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the ocean," Jennifer Saunders said recently.

Here is a clip of the first new episode scheduled to air in the UK around Christmas and here in the states Sunday, Jan. 8 at 10/9c on BBC America and Logo.

They all look great and, based on the clip, it looks like we're in for a very entertaing ride.

Cheers, Sweetie!

Holiday Spice

Photobucket

This crafty gal has found a way to incorporate the pepper-spraying cop into festive holiday wear. Of course, it's also a tale as old as time...

Religious historians have written about a long-lost passage from the Bible in which the Three Wise Men met a pepper-spray police officer on their journey to meet Baby Jesus and his fam and deliver their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The officer tried to cajole the trio into inviting him along for the ride, but after considering the offer they decided that it was probably best not to expose the Savior to any chemical agents until he reached high-school age. In order to avoid angering the police officer and getting pepper-sprayed themselves, the Wise Men gave him a $25 holiday gift certificate to Olive Garden and then resumed their travel without incident.

Olive Garden does have great bread sticks and unlimited salad.

Rated M

Photobucket

Nice...wrenches.

Mario Lopez has reached down deep into his bulging talent pool and launched his own line of underwear...

The season three runner-up of "Dancing with the Stars" is promoting his new line of underwear, Rated M, which is officially launching on Thursday, December 1. The 38-year-old told Extra! that the "M" in his label "stands for masculine, modern, Mario... make it whatever you want it to be."

Photobucket

One photo of Mario wearing nothing but a pair of boxer briefs made its way out via E! Online, which mentions that his undies' waistband reads, "For manful men and their very special guests."

Photobucket

Well, I'm sure he'd definitely get some "very special guests" if this line includes his outfit from Nip/Tuck:

Photobucket

I'm sure "Manful Men" all over the world will soon be showcasing that look for the holidays and various sporting events.

Here is some oddly dialog-free behind-the-scenes footage of his photo shoot...

Small world, isn't it?

Photobucket

If you're ever in Germany, you might want to stop by and see the world's smallest...world.

Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, the largest model railway in the world, and one of the most successful tourist attractions in Germany. On the 1.300 m² large layout, far more than a thousand trains, aircrafts, cars and ships move about. A wonder of the world in miniature.

The attention to detail is amazing and they even included people having relations in various areas.

Hot, lovely relations.
