I watched Avengers: End Game last night and, although that made for a long night, I was glad I saw it. It wasn't "great", but it was entertaining and I don't need to see it again for a while.
However, this past week's Game of Thrones episode, "The Long Night", was definitely well worth the wait. HBO released a 40-minute behind-the-scenes video on the making of that episode and it's really good.
If you haven't watched this episode yet, don't watch the video. It reveals a lot of plot spoilers and many surprises.
That being said, if you did watch it and enjoyed it...definitely check it out.
Those kids are very good at what they do.

Whatever it takes

A new trailer for Avengers: Endgame was released today...
They're definitely doing a good job of not revealing much about the plot or what is going to happen, which I kind of like.
Plus, it's the first trailer with Captain Marvel included.
Me likey.
We'll get to see how it all turns out when it opens on April 26th.

What's up Doc?

Seems we'll be getting another Doctor Strange movie...
Scott Derrickson, who directed 2016's Doctor Strange, has “quietly finalized a deal” to direct Doctor Strange 2. Marvel is now out to writers and the super tentative plan is for the film to be the studio’s May 2021 release.
I really enjoyed the first movie and, although his character got snapped away at the end of the last Avengers movie, it would appear that he'll likely find his way back.
Not shocking in any way, but I'm okay with that.
Very.

Endgame

The first trailer for Avengers: Endgame was released today...
They did a good job of just teasing the movie, without giving away anything big....yet. I'm looking forward to a more action-packed trailer in the next month or so.
Until then....exciting!
The movie opens on April 28th.

Shields Up!

Looks like Agents of Shield just received a seventh season renewal, even though the sixth season won't air until the summer of 2019...
ABC has just given Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD a huge vote of confidence with an order for a seventh season of the show, months before the sixth season even premieres.
The end of season five back in May came with lots of questions because of the proximity, both in real life and in the story, to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Ultimately, Thanos’ snap didn’t play out on SHIELD, but with two seasons now locked in, it’s certainly possible some remnants of that could be addressed.
Plus, by the time season six comes around next year, fans will once again be familiarized with both SHIELD and Agent Coulson, thanks to their roles in Captain Marvel (releasing in March 2019). While we have no clue what Avengers 4 will hold—time travel, reset, dead characters, who knows—almost any of that could impact the story moving forward.
I really like this show and thought that this upcoming sixth season was the final one. So, I'm glad that it's already locked in for a seventh season.

A Her-o

The first Captain Marvel trailer was released over the weekend....
That looks much better than I thought it might, which is a nice surprise.

I'm glad we'll get to see her story before she shows up in the next Avengers movie in May.
Captain Marvel opens on March 8th.

Marvelous

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we are finally getting the first look at Captain Marvel in her costume and some pics from her upcoming film...

I actually know very little about this Marvel character, but I know she will play a part in the upcoming Avengers movie, which opens a couple months after her solo film opens on March 8th.
And I'll be right there to see it all come together.

And beyond

Avengers: Infinity War has crossed a pretty major financial milestone in a very short amount of time...
Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has officially crossed the $2 billion worldwide box office mark, joining only three other titles to make that claim: Avatar ($2.78 billion), Titanic ($2.18 billion) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.06B).
Infinity War worldwide is Marvel’s highest release ever topping 2012’s Avengers ($1.5 billion), and followed by Avengers: Age of Ultron ($1.4 billion) and Black Panther ($1.345 billion). Infinity War completes the feat in its 48th day of release.
Stateside, it’s still going strong, taking 5th place in weekend 7 with $7.2M for a running total of $656.1M, the fifth highest grossing title of all time through June 11. Pic holds the record for biggest domestic debut ever with $257.7M in its opening weekend.
Internationally, Infinity War is the third highest grossing release ever with $1.346B. Its domestic and international debuts over the April 27 weekend combined for a record-shattering global opening of $640.5M even without China. The film opened to a massive $199.3M in China two weeks after the global debut and has gone on to become the third biggest release ever in the country with $369.7M to date.
I wonder if Marvel would just divert the interest payments for these films into my bank account?
They'd barely notice the difference.
But, I definitely would.

Phone it in

Deadpool 2 continues it's creative promotional machine by releasing a song and video from the movie, beautifully performed by Celine Dion and featuring an interpretive dancing Deadpool.
The speech he gives her at the end about singing it too well and that she should really tone it down was hilarious.
Here is a behind-the-scenes video for the...video.
Deadpool 2 opens on May 18th.
Also, if you've seen Avengers: Infinity War and want to know if you survived the end of the movie, just click this link to find out: http://www.didthanoskill.me/

This is a MAN

This very entertaining (and funny) behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War was released today...
It looks like they all had a great time making this film, while also having a lot of fun along the way.
I'm really looking forward to this opening on April 27th.

Just like that

The final Avengers: Infinity War trailer was released today...
It's looking very ominous and I have a feeling that a few of the regular characters we know and love might not make it out of this film alive.
I'm SO there!
The movie opens on April 27th.

Hollywood shuffle

It was announced today that the release date for Avengers: Infinity War has been moved up a week...
We’ve just hit March, and a date change for Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War means the sequel is officially less than two months away. The pic’s release has been moved up a week to April 27.
Bring. It.

Trailer Madness
A lot of new TV and movie trailers were released during the Super Bowl yesterday. In case you missed any of them....enjoy.
First there is Solo: A Star Wars Story.
I'm not feeling the lead actor, but maybe he'll be better in the full movie. The effects look good, though.
Next, Avengers: Infinity War.
I'm really looking forward to this!
Next, Westworld: Season 2.
The first season was awesome, so can't wait until this one starts up.
Next, Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Gee...I hope Tom Cruise runs and jumps a lot in this one. It'll still probably be good anyway.
Next, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Dinosaurs in your bedroom? Uhhh...no thanks. But, looks great!
Next, Skyscraper.
I wonder if Dwayne Johnson will save the day by the end of the movie?
Finally, The Cloverfield Paradox.
I really liked the last two Cloverfield movies and am surprised that, rather than release this one in theaters...they opted to take it directly to Netflix and made it available last night right after the Super Bowl. We'll see if there was a good reason for that...makes me nervous.

Carol Danvers arrives

The first set photo of Brie Larson wearing her Captain Marvel costume was revealed today. I'm not sure if that's the final version (her pants don't seem to fit very well) or just a test.

The costume looks more like a mechanic's jumpsuit than her comic costume. Hopefully they'll tune it up a bit and make it look a little better onscreen. They do tend to update the character costumes from one movie to the next.
It's rumored that she's actually currently filming her first appearance in Avengers 4 (or a last-minute addition to the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War) before she starts filming her solo film, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out over the next couple films.

To Infinity!

The first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was released today...
It looks pretty epic and, I'm guessing, we're likely going to see a couple of our beloved Avengers not survive this battle.
Time will tell.
The movie opens on May 4th.

Batgirl

It was just announced that Joss Whedon will write/direct a solo Batgirl movie...
Batgirl is flying solo. The super-heroine is getting her own standalone movie from filmmaker Joss Whedon. Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce an untitled Batgirl pic for Warner Bros. as part of its DC Extended Universe.
The Batgirl project will be the second movie from DC Films to star a female lead after Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman,” which opens June 2.
Whedon would be making a big move from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its DC counterpart, having written and directed “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” for Disney-Marvel. He also created the television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Firefly,” “Dollhouse,” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
This is very exciting news.
I enjoy just about everything that Joss Whedon has done, so far. He writes great characters (especially females) and always has an element of fun in his projects.
Can't wait to see how this all turns out!
