A new X-Files trailer was released today...



It's starting to come together nicely. Let's hope it holds up to the previous series, without trying too hard to be everything to everybody.

Just be good.

We'll find out more when the six episode event premieres on January 24th.

Catherine E. Coulson

Very sad news today...

Catherine E. Coulson, who played the Log Lady on David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” TV series and was set to return to the new Showtime version, died Monday morning of cancer. She was 71. 

Coulson, who also worked as a camera assistant, reprised the Log Lady role in the feature “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” and more recently, she appeared on an episode of “Portlandia” and in the film “Redwood Highway.” 



Lynch said in a statement, “Today I lost one of my dearest friends, Catherine Coulson. Catherine was solid gold. She was always there for her friends — she was filled with love for all people — for her family — for her work. She was a tireless worker. She had a great sense of humor — she loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was a spiritual person — a longtime TM meditator. She was the Log Lady.”

It's such a shame that she passed before being able to rejoin the Twin Peaks cast for the new episodes that start filming soon. She was definitely one of the most memorable odd characters on the show.

She will be missed.

Disturbed Hobo

Jimmy Kimmel did a live version of his "Celebrities Reading Mean Tweets" last week and, as always, they are VERY entertaining.



I think the guy who made the comment about Jeff Bridges might be on to something.

The past few years, Jeff Bridges really has started to come off as...eccentric.

Motel Hell

American Horror Story: Hotel released their official poster today. It looks like there will be some very cool art-deco architecture to look at while all the murdering and mayhem is going on.

So...I find that to be a plus.

The new series premieres on Wednesday October 7th.

Wednesday?

The Internets were all abuzz yesterday over a photo of Christina Ricci posing as Morticia Addams from The Addams Family movies in the 90's (where she played the youngest daughter, Wednesday).



Although it turned out to be a crafty photoshopped image, there has certainly been a sudden renewed interest in Christina Ricci possibly playing that role in the future.

Stranger things have happened...



Carrot Top gets my vote to play Cousin Itt.

And speaking of extreme changes....today is the first day of fall.



So, time to pack away the Tube Tops until next year.

Those Nuts

A new trailer for the Peanuts Movie was released today....



This one looks better than the first, which was a bit too focused on the new, kinda creepy, 3D/CGI animated characters. I think this did a better job giving viewers an overall look at the film and story, while focusing a bit more on everyone's favorite characters doing what they do best...rolling their eyes at Charlie Brown.

He just can't seem to get a break.

And that's one of the many reasons kids like him.

Plus, everyone on Facebook seems to be making Peanutized versions of themselves...so the marketing bonanza is in full swing.

The movie opens on November 6th.

Hot stuff

A new effects reel has been released showing how Khaleesi's dragons are created for Game of Thrones. It's pretty frickin' cool...



It's amazing how much detail and work is put into creating something like that. The effects teams definitely deserved the Emmy they won last night.

Now if they would just hurry up and finishing filming Season 6 so that we can start watching again.

Sigh.

Thoroughly Modern

The Hollywood Reporter got the cast of Modern Family to recreate several iconic shows, including Married With Children, I Dream of Jeannie, Cheers, Frasier, Mary Tyler Moore, and Breaking Bad.

I do enjoy this cast and show and am looking forward to the new season of Modern Family starting next Wednesday September 23rd.

Old and Gray

This video of a young twenty-something couple about to get married who allow themselves to be aged several decades from their 20's into their 90's, while getting to see each other and comment about each iteration, is surprisingly insightful and very touching.



What I loved most was how much they laughed and commented on how "they" had aged and how they felt about the other each time. They seemed so sincere and genuinely touched (especially the last couple transformations) as they discussed what life might be like for them then.

I also loved (in the 70's reveal) how she said to him "I hope I'm taking better care of your hair at this age."

Hilarious.

And I definitely didn't cry at all towards the end.

I didn't!

Well, maybe a little.

No...YOU shut up.

Avengers Off-The-Clock

When the Avengers are not out saving the world, they appear to just do normal everyday things that we regular folks enjoy. They do their laundry...



Get their hair cut...



Have dinner with friends...



Play games...



Workout...



And pee just like the rest of us.
