The first promo for Chelsea Handler's new Netflix show was released...

Netflix has unveiled the official key art for Chelsea, its long-in-the-works talk show in which host Chelsea Handler “tackles today’s tough issues with the same acerbic wit and fearless curiosity you know and love.” 

Premiering May 11, the streaming service’s first talker will cover topics ranging from international cultures, alternative lifestyles, education, health to sports, parenting politics and more. Handler will span the globe — from Russia, Japan, and Mexico City, across the U.S. and back to Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City to tape live before a studio audience. 

The 30-minute show will stream every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with no commercials.

I've missed her nightly show and look forward to this starting up on May 11th.

Also, if you haven't seen her Chelsea Does documentaries....get thee to Netflix immediately and watch them!!

Netflix just released the first trailer for Chelsea Handler's upcoming four-part documentary, Chelsea Does...



I am a big fan of her books and E! talk show Chelsea Lately and this trailer looks like more of the same style of humor and conversations that I'll likely enjoy from her as well.

Damn you Netflix for making me enjoy your new programming so much!

All four episodes become available on Netflix January 23rd.

What have you done for me, Lately?

My sister was the one who turned me on to the "Chelsea Lately" show on E! and, as she promised, the show is hilarious.

I had not heard of Chelsea Handler (the host) before, but after watching a few shows, I think I may have to start taping it regularly. She's got that smart-ass, dry sense of humor that I tend to enjoy. Plus, anyone who writes a book called "Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea" is okay by me.



I need to find this book and read it very soon!

If you haven't seen the show, record it one night and give it a lookey-loo. I think you'll enjoy it.

I'm in the middle of reading Chelsea Handler's new book "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang" and, just like her talk show, it's hilarious!

If you like her sense of humor and snarky persona, I highly recommend you treat yourself to her latest New York Times bestseller.

She writes like she talks and that's a very good thing.

Can they Handler?

Chelsea Handler is hosting the Video Music Awards this Sunday and my DVR is set!

I already love her from my nightly viewings of Chelsea Lately, so I am looking forward to seeing how she does as the host of the VMAs. She's Kathy Griffin-like in her ability to say inappropriate things, so it should make for a fun night.



And now that she's not dating Animal Planet's Dave Salmoni anymore, perhaps she'll set her sights on finding a new man, like say, Cristiano Rinaldo, seen here in his new underwear commercial for Armani...



She could do worse.

I'm off to Portland, Oregon for the next week to check out the city. I've never been there before, but if it looks anything like this video...I think I'm gonna enjoy it.



Of course, I'll keep you all posted with pics and commentary along the way...

On a break

Honestly, I'm surprised that their relationship lasted this long...

The couple, who reportedly have “A Deal’s a Deal” inscribed on their wedding rings, recently announced that they have decided to engage in a trial separation after 11 years of marriage.

In past interviews, they always seemed to mention how much "work" marriage was and how they have been to therapy together off/on during that time. That and the fact that he seemed to be kind of odd and a pack-rat and she was, like her character Monica on Friends, very neat and meticulous around the house.

It just didn't sound like they were a good match overall.

Plus, her relationship with Botox seems to be taking a priority lately. So, it's possible he's starting to not even recognize the woman-nequin he married years ago.

Speaking of lately...

Variety reports that Chelsea Handler will star in "After Lately," a 30-minute program that will focus on the backstage goings-on at her popular talk show, "Chelsea Lately."

"The show is a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at our office when the cameras are off… A perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera," comedienne Handler, who is currently filming "This Means War" with Reese Witherspoon, told Variety.

It should be utterly ridiculous...and very entertaining.

It looks like it could be a hoot and, quite possibly, a hollar!

I know that her humor isn't for everyone, but I think she's hilarious...so I'm gonna be all over this when it starts streaming tomorrow night, May 11th.

Chelsea Handler's new Netflix talk show is set to begin airing on May 11th. At the moment it has no official title, so she took to Twitter and asked people to send her their ideas and Netflix would choose their favorite.



I love the one at top...it made me laugh out loud.

And I mean LOUD.

I'm very much looking forward to this. Also, if you haven't seen her Chelsea Does series (also on Netflix), you must.

Chelsea is gonna host MTV's Video Music Awards this year...

Chelsea Handler, who just announced tonight on her E! talk show that she’s hosting the Sept. 12 event, should provide plenty of morning-after quotables for the blogosphere. So why did MTV choose her? “This has been a huge year for hip-hop and rap, and it is well-known that I have the closest ties with these communities — musically and sexually,”

I can't wait to see that...she is one of the funniest women on TV these days. Plus, for anyone who didn't already know, she's now dating animal trainer, Dave Salmoni.

Official Book Club Selection

I think I'm gonna have to pre-order this....

Kathy Griffin's new book "Official Book Club Selection" (great title...like her CD "For Your Consideration") comes out in September.

I usually enjoy reading books by funny people and Kathy always makes me laugh. I loved Chelsea Handler's "Hello Vodka, It's Me, Chelsea" book. Which reminds me...I need to get her previous book that focused on her whoring days.

If Kathy's book is anywhere near as funny as her standup or her TV show, then I'm sure it'll be a great read. Here is what she has to say about it:

Trainwreck

A trailer for Amy Schumer's upcoming movie Trainwreck was just released today and, like her TV show, Inside Amy Schumer...it appears to focus on her being drunk and sleeping around...a lot.



I like Amy and Bill Hader (if you haven't seen him in The Skeleton Twins with Kristen Wiig, you should!) and Judd Aptow's movies are usually pretty funny...so it might be worth watching.

If not, I'll just reread one of Chelsea Handler's books and call it even.

Tramps

Although I enjoy jumping on a trampoline as much as the next guy, I don't think I'd have the nerve to do any of these tricky shenanigans....



Besides the usual "uh...no way" response most of us would have, I'd be afraid that I'd get so comfortable with it, that I might accidentally drop off of a parking structure after drinking and forget that there wasn't a trampoline down below to send me back up.

Ouch!

Also, someone posted this video on Facebook of Sandra Bullock confronting Chelsea Handler in the shower. It's pretty hilarious (if you want to see a larger version, click here).

Gawker posted a story about Subtle Butt and, having the mind of a 12-year-old boy, I just couldn't let it slip by without sharing it...

I have restrained myself vigorously from littering this post with fart references about Subtle Butt, but the great thing about the people who comment on Gawker is that they...do not. Here are some of my favorites:

There are some very funny people out there in this world.

Lost: In Translation

I have to say that, with the exception of the episode where Gary died on thirtysomething (and the funeral episode that followed) and the last six minutes of Six Feet Under, I don't think I've cried as much throughout an episode of a TV show like I did last night while watching the finale of Lost.

Overall, I really liked the way that the show ended and was genuinely moved by almost every single reunion "ah-ha" moment each cast member experienced. On a variety of spiritual, philosophical and emotional levels, I was really pleased.



Of course, I have a GAZILLION questions that I'd like to have answered and/or explained. It's taking all of my willpower to stop myself from going to just "one more" Web site to read just "one more" set of comments from people to find out what they think it all meant. It's fascinating to me how vastly different people react to and interpret the same experience.

I love it.

Hopefully, one day soon, Oprah or Chelsea Handler will get the creators together and just have a big ole "Lost: WTF?" interview and finally let us know some of those answers.

Until then, I'm just going to go to one more site and see what these people have to say....

The Heat opens today and it's a RIOT!

I saw a sneak preview a few weeks ago and will have to go see it again because there were so many funny moments, that the laughter ran over the next funny lines. Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are just so damn funny together.

If you like either of these gals...you should not miss it.
