Logan trailer

 photo 1119b07a-3b53-4f74-b1c5-9cb24c3a6dbb_zpsqalvmfkp.jpg

The first trailer for the X-Men Wolverine-focused movie, Logan, was released today...

It's definitely got a different tone than most of the other X-Men movies (as it seems there are very few X-Men still alive) and also looks a bit like a dusty road trip movie with an elderly Professor Xavier and a young female Wolverine, X-23.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

However...I will be going to see it anyway.

The movie slices its way into theaters on March 3rd.

A new trailer for the Wolverine sequel, Logan, was released today...

It looks like the min-Wolverine kid is quite lethal when she gets angry.

Enjoyable.

Logan opens March 3rd.

Scratchy

Wolverine

The first photo from the upcoming The Wolverine movie was released today and Hugh Jackman looks pretty much like he did in films past, although a bit trimmer than I recall.

You definitely wanna watch those claws if you get an itch.

Bran muffin?

The new Logan poster makes it look like old Wolverine is either constipated or angry.

Possibly both.

Double Doodie

Entertainment Weekly has issued two different "Star Trek" covers this week, which is nice. Although, since only one cover is mailed or for sale in any particular state or region, I can't seem to find both of them (I need the Kirk/Uhura one above).

The "helpful" EW customer service folks said that, although they printed and sold both covers, they couldn't actually confirm that I'd get the cover that I wanted...I'd just have to "take my chances and hope for the best".

I know that someone tracks those covers to see which sells better, so I don't think it should be that difficult to track down a particular cover for someone who wants to buy one. So, I'll continue to bug their customer service department and, if they don't help, then on to the corporate peeps.

Corporate offices always love to deal with little stuff like this. I imagine they look something like these disturbing Burger "King-ons"....

So, if anyone out there is able to find the Kirk/Uhura EW magazine at their local Piggly Wiggly and grab one for me...I'd really appreciate it.

A little bit of box office info: Since 91% of all online tickets for "Star Trek" on Fandango have been sold (far exceeding last weeks pre-sell of "Wolverine"), Paramount Studios moved up the opening of the film from tomorrow to TONIGHT at 7:00 pm in all theaters...so that's very cool. I already have my tickets for the midnight show tonight at the big Cinerama Dome theater in Hollywood.

I'm taking my camera in case some of the kids dress up, which is always entertaining.

Where Wolve?

 photo 65382f90-95ff-4923-87e8-34aff1069ddb_zpsujbc67fj.jpg

There Wolve.

The final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse was released today and, besides an expanded look at some of the battles, we find out that the kids get a little "help" from a friend....

I'm not sure how they manage to work Wolverine into the movie, but I honestly don't care.

It's X-Men.

I'm going to see it.

End Scene.

The movie opens May 27th.

The first promo poster for the upcoming Wolverine sequel, Logan, was released today by the director on Twitter.

The little kid must have REALLY long fingers.

The movie opens on March 3rd.

Professor X-lax

The director of Logan (the Wolverine sequel I posted about yesterday) shared a photo today of Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier in the sequel...and it's not pretty.

More on this from The Wrap...

“Professor X (Patrick Stewart) is old and not well. His powers are unstable and at times he doesn’t even remember Logan.”

He looks like the Ghost of X-Men Past.

Of course, his character has already died twice in two other X-Men movies and alternate realities...so, technically, he is kind of a ghost.

Can't wait to see this when it opens on March 3rd.

Summer Lovin'

Usually there are only one or two movies I look forward to in any given year. However, this year...there are several at the top of my list and almost all of them open in the next few months. "Wolverine" opens in a week, "Star Trek" opens in two weeks, the new "Harry Potter" movie opens in July and the "Transformers" sequel opens a few weeks after that.

I'm gonna be shoving a lot of popcorn in my pie-hole very soon!

Here is the new trailer for "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". Lots of magic, action and impending doom seem to be on the way...

Bring it!

Academy Awards

I actually have early commerical photos that look frighteningly similar to this image...

We had our usual Academy Awards gathering last night and there were several nice moments, like Sean Penn winning Best Actor, along the way (like these hilarious framed images that my friends Joel and Sheldon suprised a few of us with during the red carpet pre-show).

I thought Hugh Jackman did a suprisingly good job hosting the show and really enjoyed his opening number.

Who knew Wolverine could sing that well?

As you can see, Oscar was very suprised that Meryl Streep didn't win for Best Actress. However, she was her usual gracious self and really looked beautiful in her elegant gown.

She's a classy lady, that one.

Joel enjoyed Ben Stiller's Joaquin Phonenix impression at the podium. We're all hoping that Joaquin is just being a lunatic these days as a publicity stunt for his upcoming mockumentary.

If not...I hope he enjoys doing regional theater.

My friend John was disappointed that Jennifer Aniston didn't suddenly leap off the stage and start bitch-slapping Angelina Jolie, who sat there (looking stunning as always) smiling up at her while clinging to Jenn's ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

Angelina would have easily won, so Jenn made the right decision.

Sheldon cheered for all of the "Slumdog Millionaire" awards, mainly because it meant that we'd likely be seeing a lot more Bollywood dancing in the near future.

Sheldon always enjoys a good dance number with colorful costumes and lots of jazz hands.

It was also my friend Andrew's 40th birthday yesterday, so we celebrated that as well. Just like Benjamin Button, Andrew appears to be aging in reverse.

And we all continue to hate him for that daily...

Santa Claws

I saw "The Day the Earth Stood Still" this past weekend. It was okay...good effects and concept, but the story and ending were a bit weak, not quite deep enough for what they were trying to say about how we're destroying our planet and all of that. But, it's always nice to see Kathy Bates in a movie, even if she's not hobbling anyone.

However, if you enjoy Hugh Jackman and all of his Sexiest Man Alive qualities, I think you're gonna wanna see the new Wolverine movie trailer that played before "Day".

Now that looks enjoyable...ho, ho, ho!

And so it begins

The summer blockbuster movie extravaganza has officially kicked off with the opening of "Wolverine" this weekend.

The reviews haven't been very good, but I have a feeling that people will still go see it in droves.

I have no idea why...
