Comic Con 2015 just ended and, with it, came the release of a few unexpected movie promotions. First off...the first full length Batman v Superman trailer, with our first look at Wonder Woman.
It looks pretty awesome and it was great to see Wonder Woman in action.
I couldn't be more there opening weekend (March 25, 2016).
Then the Star Wars team released a behind-the-scenes overview on the making of The Force Awakens, emphasizing the use of practical sets and creatures (rather than all CGI)...
It was very cool to see so many of the original cast members and locations after so many years. If this sneak peek is any indication, the movie could be amazing.
Then, after a bad pirated version was released last night online, the studio behind The Suicide Squad decided to just release a clean copy today.
I don't know much about this comic book series, but I do know that Jared Leto'screepy Joker and Ben Affleck's Batman are also in it....so that should be interesting and worth checking out.
Omar Sharif, by the far the most iconic film star ever to emerge out of the Arab world, has died at the age of 83. Although Sharif burst onto the international stage in David Lean’s Lawrence Of Arabia in 1962, he had achieved fame in the Arab world almost a decade earlier in Youssef Chahine’s searing 1954 drama Sira’a Fil Wadi. It was his performance as Sherif Ali opposite Peter O’Toole’s piercing blue-eyed Lawrence that would catapult Sharif to a global stardom no Arab actor achieved before or since. He cemented his status as one of the decade’s great cinematic faces when he re-teamed with Lean for Doctor Zhivago in 1965.
Netflix has released their first full trailer for the upcoming series Wet Hot American Summer and it looks like it could be a hoot and, quite possibly, a hollar...
Netflix has dropped the first full trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp, the prequel series to the cult hit 2001 pic. The aptly titled eight-episode series starts with the first day of camp in 1981. We get the first look at new cast additions Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm and Jason Schwartzman along with returning stars from the movie, Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, David Hyde Pierce, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, AD Miles, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter.
It's got a pretty amazing cast and I have a feeling hilarity will likely ensue.
Terminator Genisys opens today, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Khaleesi from Game of Thrones and a couple other folks. The trailer looks pretty good and, Arnold's waxen face aside, I bet it'll still do pretty well at the box office this weekend.
There is another movie that opens today as well, but the name escapes me.
