Super Men

Photobucket

Entertainment Weekly interviews the new Superman, Henry Cavill, about his audition for the role.

Henry Cavill has said that he was made to wear a replica outfit worn by Christopher Reeve in the 1978 Superman movie during his audition for the lead in the reboot.

I would think that would be like trying on underwear you find in a thrift store.

No, thanks.

Photobucket

Channing Tatum is on the cover of GQ magazine talking about his career.

On landing bigger and better roles. “No one’s calling me for lawyer roles. I still have a lot to do to prove myself.”

Photobucket

Yeah...that photo doesn't really scream "I object, your Honor!"

And, here is the first photo of Kellan Lutz, as sea God Neptune, in the upcoming movie Immortals.

Photobucket

Kellan and Channing wouldn't make believable lawyers.

Unless they were representing Matthew McConaughey.

Ye Gods!

Photobucket

In case you've missed their commercials every fifteen minutes on every channel for the past couple of weeks, the fat-free movie Immortals opens today.

Photobucket

If you're a fan of 300 and the Spartacus series as well as mythical, scantily clad Gods, dramatic comic book blood, and Ginsu slice and dice violence...there's a pretty good chance you're going to enjoy this too.

It features Henry Cavill (the new Superman, also immortal)...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Mickey Rourke and Stephen Dorff...

Photobucket

And Kellan Lutz (whose next Twilight film also opens next Friday)...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Kellan even sacrificed his shirt on the cover of the new Men's Fitness just to help promote this movie.

Photobucket

He's a trooper.

It looks like it's going to be a visual extravaganza with, if this clip is any indication, lots of graceful slow-motion carnage for every boy and girl in Whoville.

Ouch!

I'm in.

Gawker has a very funny review of the movie here.

Super Tuesday

Chris Evans has just signed to play Captain America in the upcoming Marvel film, The First Avenger: Captain America.

It's an odd choice, since he already played Johnny Storm (the "Flame-ON!" guy) in the previous Marvel Fantastic Four movies (which are going to be redone again with a new cast). He'll also play Captain America in the upcoming "Avengers" movie, which will also include Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Hulk (Edward Norton), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) all in one movie.

Filming has already begun on a stand-alone Thor movie with Chris Hemsworth (he played Kirk's young father in the last Star Trek movie), which will also co-star Anthony Hopkins and is being directed by Kenneth Branagh.

It will be cool to see an Avengers movie with all three characters (and probably more) and the same actors starring in them for once. It's a shame that Warner Bros. still hasn't be able to get their Justice League movie off the ground. Maybe Avengers will help give them a bit of a competition push...

However, the DC Universe is still going strong, there is a new Batman movie and Superman and X-Men movie reboots in the works and, of course, we have Ryan Reynolds currently filming the Green Lantern movie...so I'm looking forward to those as well.

The new Conan movie was also cast recently, with Stargate Atlantis actor Jason Momoa taking over Arnold's infamous loin cloth (hopefully it was dry-cleaned first).

I'm sure that Jason's main competition for the role, Kellan Lutz (from the movie Twilight and recent Calvin Klein ads), was bummed when he didn't get the barbarian role. But, I'm sure he's over it now...

It was announced today that Kellan has been cast as the Greek god Poseidon in the upcoming movie War of the Gods, which will also star Mickey Roarke (who also co-stars in the upcoming Iron Man 2) as King Hyperion.

Gold's Gym must be very busy lately with all of these Superhero, Warrior, and and Greek God movies coming out.

I certainly don't see any of these actors "preparing for their roles" at my local 24 Hour Fitness.

Twit Pics

Kellan Lutz tweeted a pic of himself from the Hercules movie that he is currently filming (which will compete with the one that Dwayne Johnson is also filming now).

I don't think Dwayne has to worry too much about Kellan's version, which I imagine might head direct to OnDemand upon release.

Also, Brian Singer tweeted a pic of a full-size Sentinel that will be featured in his upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Here's a little clip that explains the origin of the Sentinels...

Those would be a huge help in the fall when the gutters need to be cleaned out.

What's that smell?

Kellan Lutz is starring in Legend of Hercules, which opens on Friday.

It looks like it's gonna be awful...

I mean, awfully perfect for OnDemand viewing in two months.

After I've watched every other movie I wanted to see OnDemand.

Here's the trailer....

Please do!

Now this is exciting news....

HBO‘s The Comeback, is eyeing a comeback. HBO is in discussions with the series creators/executive producers Michael Partick King, who also served as director, and Lisa Kudrow, who toplined the show, about doing a new installment almost a decade after the first season. It is being envisioned as a limited/event series.

The Comeback, which debuted in June 2005, was a docu-style single-camera comedy starring Kudrow as washed-up sitcom actress Valerie Cherish, who gets a reality show documenting her attempt at a career comeback with a role on a new sitcom. Although the series didn’t go beyond the 13-episode first season, it did earn three Emmy nominations, including a lead actress nom for Kudrow and a directing nom for King.

OMG...I loved this show. It was so funny and, although painful to watch at times (because she always managed to get humiliated in some way every show), you were usually crying most from laughing so hard.

Plus, Lisa Kudrow is always just so frickin' hilarious.

I have really missed Valerie Cherish and Aunt Sassy.

Here's a little taste...

UPDATE 4/4: HBO has picked up The Comeback for six episodes….

A source in HBO's Manhattan office confirmed what has been widely rumored for weeks now. "The Comeback " is coming back! Lisa Kudrow's shortlived but much-loved series will receive a six-episode reboot -- "Revisitting 'The Comeback' 10 Years Later" -- and will feature all of the main characters, including Kellan Lutz, Malin Ackerman, Mickey, Paulie G., etc.

Yeah!!!

Rock and Roll

 photo ef40d68b-d26a-4e22-95f4-de803fef5f1b_zpsd4e232dc.jpg

A new poster and trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Hercules was just released and it's looking….exactly how you'd expect it to look.

I still haven't seen the earlier Kellan Lutz version, which got less than stellar reviews.

Although I really do enjoy Dwayne and will likely see it, I'm usually not all that interested in these kinds of movies.

They tend to be a bit too stabby for me.

Boys to Men

Photobucket

Chris Colfer, from Glee, is featured in the new Rolling Stone article "Best Characters and Most Memorable Scene-stealers" arriving on newsstands today. Although he's technically a bit young to be sipping an Appletini in a leather bar, he's certainly not the first kid to try to shake things up a bit at the local watering hole.

I mean...Stewie Griffin is even younger.

Photobucket

The season finale of True Blood airs next Sunday, September 12th.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Hopefully the break will give cast members some time to hit the gym before they start filming season four. They obviously need it...

Photobucket

Rob Lowe appears on the cover of the new issue of Men's Fitness. I wonder if it'll sell as many copies as the issue featuring Kellan Twilight Saga Lutz did in July?

Photobucket

NCIS: Los Angeles has been renewed for another season.

Photobucket

I'm sure LL was cool J with that.

Photobucket

A new pic from the upcoming movie Thor has been released and finally shows Chris Hemsworth holding his mighty hammer. So to speak...

And finally, Cristiano Ronaldo is...

Photobucket

Well...nothing new on him other than he's still playing soccer and doing his best to keep fans happy.
