A very lost boy

Sadly, this doesn't come as a surprise...

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Former 1980s teen movie actor and heartthrob Corey Haim died early Wednesday, authorities said.

Haim, 38, was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. Los Angeles police Sgt. Frank Albarran said earlier that Haim's death appeared to be accidental and may have been due to an overdose.

It's always unfortunate when young actors get caught up in the drug scene and never find their way out. I really enjoyed his films like "Lost Boys" and "Lucas" when he was younger. It's too bad that he wasn't able to balance his life out and continue with his career.

He was a very talented kid.

I think the drug was fame. The other drug use was a symptom. I wish Hollywood would support the young stars the same way they do the older ones. There should be mentoring and support for the young, instantly famous kids. If they can build and fund an old age home for actors they should be able to help the ones just coming up. Very sad.

I agree with you 100%. Hollywood just wants you if you can make them money. If you can't, then they lure in new ones and cast the others aside very often.

It is sad...
