And...he's gay.
"I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man," Martin wrote on his official Web site. "I am very blessed to be who I am."
"To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids were born with," he wrote.
"Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen five or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment."
For many people, this isn't a big surprise. However, I still think it's good when celebrities come out and talk about their own struggles and fears along the way.
If it helps even one or two people somewhere in the world who are struggling with the same issues find the strength and courage to live their own lives more honestly and become, ultimately, happier...
Then, that's bueno.

I completely agree that if this helps someone it's good. There are a lot of closeted homosexuals who are afraid to simply be themselves and I think that's horrible. I know people think Martin is an easy victim to make fun of, but honestly, what he did was brave.
I agree with you. As much as I wish everyone would come out that wants to...they have their own lives and concerns to consider first in order to figure out what works best for them and their lives.
That aside, a little Latino flava is always welcome to any party. =)
